Chile Paste, Sauce, Garlic Sauce....

Various recipes have requested:

Chile Paste
Chili Garlic Sauce
Chile Sauce

Are these all the same thing or differnet ingredients? I don't think there's Garlic in my Chile Paste but not sure about the sauce (the label is not in English). And the Paste and Sauce seem to look like the same thing - I thought they would be different consistencies (paste thicker) but they don't seem to be any different.

I used chile garlic sauce in the sichuan chicken recipie for this month (it called for paste) and it worked out just fine. I would go ahead and give your recipie a try with whichever type you have on hand. You could always add more garlic, if you want.
