goldilocks,
You might want to do a search on the bulletin board for the CL Complete Cookbook. There have been several threads that list many delicious recipes. I think you will be very happy with it. I love mine!

My new favorites after this weekend - - the amazing Blueberry Yogurt Muffins!! I will admit I added a few more blueberries - but oh my these are great!! Also, the basic pizza dough - I have never made my own bread like dough (nothing that needed yeast anyway) It came out so good!! (I will admit it tasted better than it looked since I was using a cookie sheet and not a special pan. I also like the pork chops with country gravy. Very good. I find new things every week in this cookbook! It was very well spent $$!

I broke down yesterday and finally bought this cookbook. I looked through it and there are a lot of good recipes in there. Just was wondering for those of you who have it, what are your favorite recipes from this book? Thanks in advance for sharing!

We really liked the confetti quesadillas. Also the thai/malaysian? chicken pizza.
I just got the cookbook, so I haven't tried that many recipes.

I second the thai/malaysian pizza. It is fairly quick and sooooooo good. I make it almost once a week. The left overs are great cold too, not that my SO leaves left overs that often, but you get the idea, lol.

I know this probably has been discussed here, but is this cookbook a compendium of every recipe that appeared in CL for a certain number of years? Is it worth having if you own the year-in-review books for each year?

goldilocks -- The blueberry lemon pound cake (on the cover) is excellent! My favorite from the book so far, but I must admit I've been focusing more on recipes from recent issues of CL.
Beth H -- I remember reading somewhere that this cookbook contains the top 10 percent of CL recipes since the start of the magazine. I only have the most recent two annuals, so this cookbook was a good buy for me.

beth,
the complete cookbook is supposed to represent the top 10% of their recipes of all time. so naturally there will be some overlap between the annuals and the 5 star cookbook. but it also has really good techniques and pictures that i find helpful.

Here are the ones I have used, all have been repeated numerous times:
Pork chops braised in country gravy, pg 330 (be sure to allow enough time for cooking as they take quite awhile)
Deep dish Chigago Pizza PG296
Golden Mushroom gravy, Turkey with pg280 (I have made the gravy without making the turkey and with chicken)
Chicken with 40 Gloves of Garlic pg371
Beer-Cheese Bread pg88
Cranberry Chutney pg453 (served with turkey and ham-served it warm)
