:( Hmmmmmmmm...I've noticed that I am not receiving emails when a thread I have participated in, or started has posts added. I checked my options file and do have the appropriate check to be notified if there's a post to a thread I'm involed in.
Could there be any help regarding that?
Thanks.

Quite a few of us have been having this problem - as far as I'm aware Jennifer hasn't yet replied to any of the many threads about this problem.

Me too. It's getting annoying that the system isn't working like it is supposed to.

Hey CL - what's the scoop?

I wasn't alone, was wondering if I got dismissed or what? Hope this is corrected soon.

I've been receiving email notifications just fine the past few weeks. Perhaps your ISP thinks of them as spam therefore they aren't making sure you get them?

Hey,
I'm not ignoring you guys. And, if you ever think I am, please shoot me an email (jennifer_middleton@timeinc.com )

As for the email notification, I think the system got back-logged and just went on the fritz. I've reset it, so hopefully things will run smoothly. You may not receive emails for threads you've subscribed to in the meantime, however.

I'll be testing it out to see if we're fixed.
Thanks everyone,
Jennifer

I just now received two email notifications for threads I'm subscribed to, as expected.

Still no joy here - three threads had new posts and no notifications.

Yet again I received a notice about this thread having "new" posts in it. I don't know why it is working fine for me but not you. Have you checked with your Internet Service Provider to be sure they aren't bouncing CL's email notifications to you? More and more companies are providing spam guard for their customers. It's really become annoying because many people are missing their mail as a result. :/

About a month ago I, too, was having problems not getting the email notifications. However, in the past few weeks it has been working as expected for me. I've received EVERY single notification for threads I'm subscribed to.

I'm not saying that it isn't CL's fault, but you should at least make sure your ISP isn't causing it. Ask them if they are bouncing mail from: CookingLight@CustomerSvc.com. They might be.

I don't think it is a problem with my ISP or my spam guard because (1) I get notices once in a while, and (2) I got one about this post I'm replying to.

BTW - I'm not accusing anyone at CL or any other place of not doing their job just trying to help improve the service at Cooking Light.

That's good that it is working for you now. It continues to work for me.

I wasn't at all implying that someone wasn't doing their job either. I was just pointing out that there could be another cause to the problem and those having problems should at least rule that out as well. ;)

Not working again - I'll have to check with Earthlink to see if they are blocking messages from Cooking Light but unless they just started in the past couple days I'd be surprised.

Will let you know.

Ok, I never received a notice for this discussion. :( However, I did receive one for a recent MasterCook question over in the Food folder. :/

Sometimes I do get notifications for this thread, sometimes I don't.

I didn't get any notifications for a thread I started last night, and was thinking "poor me, no one replied", but when I checked the boards, there it was, replies and all.

*laugh* I got a notification for Paula's latest post here. I feel like a yo-yo now. :)

Still hit and miss here. It was terrible yesterday - got no notifications. Today I got a couple. Maybe...

Now after weeks of successful notifications I'm back to not getting any. I got three on Saturday for a PM and two threads. Today two threads had posts without notification. Any thoughts?

If you're logged in, you won't receive any email notifications. Maybe that was it? (Wishful thinking.)

I'll check to see if our email server is acting up.

Thanks!

Jennifer

Forgot to add -- I just received a notification of your post.

Really? I quite often will get email notifications while logged into the boards.

Me too. When I'm getting updates I'll even get them when I'm logged in. Tonight I got a notification about one of the other threads that I'm a member of but not a notification about this one. Go figure.

Thanks for checking,
Les

Man, this is getting really silly - I just switched on my computer, downloaded my emails.... and had five notifications of new posts on one thread.

A thread that I haven't had any email notifications for (despite new posts) over the last four days.

Argh!!!!!
