Anybody interested in starting a Lansing, Michigan, area supper club?

My DH and I live over in the Mt. Hope/Penn area of central Lansing. We both love to cook (he's more in the learning stages) and appreciate good food.
Hopefully some others in our area will chime in...

Me too!
My husband and I both like to cook (and eat!! :D), and are relatively new to the area. We live near Mt. Hope and MLK. I've been lurking and hoping that someone in the Lansing area would be interested in a Supper Club. Hopefully others have too...

My friend (another Cooking Light fan) and I would love to join a Supper Club! I'm a novice cook, still need that recipe, but love good food, drink, and conversation.

It looks like we've got a good little group started here! I'll bump this up and see if anyone else bites!:D
Do anyone have suggestions on when they'd like to meet, etc? I've never been in a cooking group before, but think that most people meet 1x per month and it rotates among the group members. Let's post some ideas and see what happens.

I've never been a part of a supper club, either. I like the ideas about meeting once a month on a rotation. Maybe it would be best if we meet for coffee and decide what will work best.

My husband and I live in Lansing. I love to cook and have been thinking about starting or joining a supper club. I would love to meet at a coffee shop and discuss possibilities.

I have also just recently moved to the Lansing area. After reading the article in the September issue of CL, I thought it would be a great idea to see if there was anyone interested in forming a supper club. What's the next step?

Krista has suggested that we all meet for the first time to iron out the details on Thursday, September 18th, at Panera Bread Co. in Frandor. Does that work for everyone? How is 6:30 PM?

The 18th works for me - looking forward to meeting at Panera in Frandor at 6:30. Any idea how many of us there are?

I will be there, for certain. I think Krista and Amy will be there. The others seem to have lost interest, unfortunately.
See you next Thursday!

Sounds like we might have the beginnings of a supper club! I have two friends in my neighborhood who are also interested - so I'll bring them along. See you all on Thursday!

I am easy to pick out in a crowd, right now. I am 5 feet tall, have shoulder length blond hair, and a large, six month pregnant belly. The rest of you can use me as a homing device, if you want. Everyone meet at pregger's table! :)
Can't wait to meet you all.

I'm sure we'll find you, Steph! I'm 6', full figured with red/brown bobbed hair with bangs. Dh is also tall, with sandy 'jacknicholson' hair and glasses.
Maybe we should all show up in Halloween costumes...
;) :p

I started this thread and then never came back to look at responses . . .
Is this group meeting regularly?
Are you open to a new member?

Of course you're welcome to join!
We've already met as a group once for dinner (a lot of fun); there's about 12 of us, including spouses. We also recently met for a brunch at a local eatery (Tuba Charlie's in Okemos), as we're not having a Nov or Dec meeting because of the holidays. We're thinking about meeting again mid-January, and will get in touch with each other after the new year. I'll make sure to keep an eye on this thread and post any info that comes my way.
Take Care,
Kyle

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a great holiday season. Stephanie and Jason, how's the newest addition?
I can't remember how we left things way back in November. Were we planning on meeting in January? I ran into Shirley and I know that she is out of the country for a few weeks. My house is small, but I'm open to hosting.

Is this Supper Club still active and open to new members? I am hoping so, because I'd like to join.
