It was just okay. The samples were nothing special (2 tiny jars of Smucker's low-sugar/no-sugar jam, an EAS Advantage bar, and little mustard packs). I had a bite of a Lean Cuisine skillet meal, too. I got a few coupons and only 3 or 4 recipe cards.

However...the event was held at a Wegman's grocery, and it was SO fabulous that I confess that I spent much of my cart-pushing time with a stupid grin on my face! I'm horribly jealous of any of you who can regularly shop at these stores; I had to drive 35 minutes to get to it. I had a marvelous hour by myself cruising all the aisles, and finding all the stuff I can't get near my house. Sick I know, but this was my idea of a really good weekend afternoon. ;)

Sounds like an ideal way to spend several hours to me :D :D

Thanks for sharing and glad you could have some "alone" time in a huge grocery store ;) :p

Laura- glad you had a good time at the Wegmans. I'm a fixture at ours! :) The CL Truck was supposed to visit our Wegmans next weekend, but cancelled. :(

WAAH:( . When is it coming to Austin? I have looked at the schedule and it is staying in the East.

I missed it last time.

Pico, you can find info on the truck at the website (Events I think) and there's a full page blurb in every issue of CL (page 139 this month).

Another minor whine; the speakers were blasting rap music *very* loudly into the parking lot.

Leisa, you really aren't missing much. I mean, they do a good job with it and all, but it's designed more for attracting new readers than anything. As Laura mentioned, the samples are nothing special, there are regular coupons and zillions of recipe cards. Those are kind of nice, but if you've been subscribing for a while or have the annuals, well, you've got 'em. Now, if we had a great supermarket for it visit that would be something different but none here :( . Instead it sets up in the Financial District  .

I agree, nothing special if you are a regular subscriber. I didn't post earlier because I didn't want to put a damper on it.

Laura,

I am sooo jealous...the thing we miss most now that we live in Florida is Wegman's (or Weggies, as my hubby calls it...)

Our weekly trip to Wegman's was like our "Night Out"...we used to cruise all the isles, and then have a great dinner/lunch...

I actually purchased my Kitchen Aid Mixer at Wegman's...

I would drive the 35 minutes once a month for the "Wegman's Experience"...
