We had another wonderful night together! The weather cooperated so we got to eat outside and enjoy the evening.

For the most part, I thought the July issue was a total wash, but the recipes we tried were very good so maybe I'd better go back and give the issue a second look.

Here's what we feasted on last evening!

Salsa and Chips - Beth used her daughter's recipe for this, and it was yummy. It tasted so fresh! I wish I had snuck some home with me!

Spicy Pecorino and Peppercorn Breadsticks - these were okay - hard to work with and handle with all the cheese in them, then kind of dry to eat. But the flavor was really good, and we all decided that they would taste good with an italian meal that had some sauce for dipping so the bazillions the recipe makes are probably resting in Beth's freezer right now waiting for a lasagna meal!

Peach Glazed Barbecue Pork Chops and Peaches - Mary made these and they were very good! She lucked into some chops that were beautiful and they grilled up nicely. The grilled peaches were tasty, I've never had grilled a peach before and I enjoyed it! I don't know how hard this was to put together, but it's worth it, a good meal to serve guests I would think.

Wheat Berry Salad with Dried Fruit - Sue made this because she's recently become addicted to wheatberries:) This was really, really good. Adding the fruit and cheese was perfect - a tasty dish. I've got some for lunch today.

Sweet Corn and Roasted Garlic Custards - Janean made these. It was very yummy and not hard to put together either. She served them right in the custard cups, rather than dumping them on the plate, which worked out very well. I liked these a lot.

Roasted Plums with Ginger and Pecans - I made this and it was good, not really great, but good. A bit of a hassle to put together, I felt like I was using too many pots and kitchen utensils, but in the end it came together nicely and had a good flavor.

So, there you have it! Next month we are using the August issue, which I have page-marked to death there's so many things I wanted to try.
