I just have to share the warm fuzzy feeling I am having right now. We live in Colorado Springs and got about 6" overnight so we are having a snow day (which blows me away having lived in Jackson Hole). I am sitting at my desk working http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif but watching the kids outside with saucers and shovels making sledding trails. It's just a neat thing to watch. Reminds me of what is really important. Well I need to get off this board so I can finish my work so I can go join them. Just wanted to share.

Laura,

That's sweet. I'm smiling imagining it. I had just taken a two-minute break to sit here feeling sorry for myself http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/tongue.gif , but you're so right about remembering what's truly important.

Have fun in the snow! (If you play hard enough in the snow, it counts as a set of lunges http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif .)

Now you have me wishing I was living in Colorado. By the time your snow gets down my way it's turned to rain! We have had over 25" of rain since the middle of October and it's suppose to rain the rest of the week! Throw a few snowballs for me http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif !

I am in Boulder and enjoying the snow too!!!!! Would love it even more if I could have just stayed at home under the covers with a good book!

Hi Laura!

Just wanted to say hi - I am in Colorado Springs also. And we are definitely enjoying the snow... even the shoveling was not too bad this morning.

Enjoy it while it lasts!

We seem to be having a good winter this year with snow fall averaging on a weekly basis. We just received a couple more inches since our last storm a couple of weeks ago (12"). I love the beauty that nature gives us. Whether it be the falling leaves, snow or the beautiful summer skies. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif The trees are so pretty right now with the snow settling on the branches.

Laura,

I'm in the Springs too and I thought that today was a great day. I love when it snows enough to have fun but not to cause a lot of trouble. Besides, gotta love the sleding!

Alaska has had one of the weirdest winters I've seen.. I never thought I'd say this-but, I miss the usual snowfall! It was 48 degrees here & raining about 3-4 days ago, & Texas has been colder than Anchorage several x this winter. We didn't even have snow last Thanksgiving http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif.
I'm jealous of you guys! Mostly because of the postponed/cancelled skiing, sledding, & Hockey. Lol, can I have some whine with that cheese? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif Zinnia

Living in NYC, snow is nice for a day or two. Then it gets dirty and slushy. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif
So my warm and fuzzy feelings usually come from the rainy days. I live in a small apartment, but the kitchen window looks over a few backyards, all grown wild, but they are so green!! And living next to a big park, we have lots of wildlife..yes, even in the Big City! Anyway, when it rains, it falls softly on the grass, on the trees, and the birds hide out and chirp..everything smells so good and looks so bright and fresh! That's when I get myself a cup of tea, look through CL, and go make muffins...
