looking for supper club in Chester County Pa???

I was wondering if there are any current clubs in the chester county area - my husband and I would be interested in joinig or starting one if there is an interest.

It looks like we have at least 8 people, including spouses, interested. I'd be willing to take the lead in planning an inital meeting. Just let me know where you live (if you haven't already) and general days/times that are convenient for you.

We have a Downingtown address but live near Lionville/Exton. As for when to meet, I would vote for having supper club meetings on the weekends which gives more time for cooking and relaxing. Weeknights can be hectic but we are flexible.

It looks like we have between 10-13 people interested. I think that's a good number to limit ourselves to. What does everyone else think? How about the weekend of Sept 20 for a planning meeting? I know a few of us have confirmed our interest, but if you haven't please PM me or post to this thread. Thanks!

I agree that that we should limit ourselves now that there are 10-13 people. The 20th is good for us. Would you be interested in an appetizer get together? We all love to cook so we could get together and everyone bring an appetizer to the initial meeting. We can munch and talk about our future supper meetings. Or, we could meet at a restaurant the first time to meet each other. What do you think?

At this point it looks like we have three couples with confirmed interest: joannala, jcbb, and I. Anyone else still in? I'd be happy to start with the 6 of us and then welcome others in, if that works for the rest!

Joannala, jcbb and I are both busy on alternate weekends until close to the end of October (just our luck). We were thinking of meeting initially on a weeknight in the Chadds Ford area. We both have infants and since weeknight babysitting can be difficult to line-up we talked about doing something very simple so that we can bring them along. I know it's not ideal for a supper club first meeting, but would that work for you? I think that we all agree that weekends are best for the actual dinners, though.

I see you are getting quite a group - I hope I am not too late. My name is Amanda and I love cooking and have had great success with Cooking Light recipes. I am relatively new to Chester County (Downingtown) and am looking for a way to meet new friends. What better way than over good food? My husband prefers eating to cooking, so there would only be one additional member. When you get a chance, please let me know if you think I might be a fit for your group. If not, no worries - I can always try to start another Chester County club.
