I would be interesed in joining or starting one. Do you have other people who are interested? What age group are you looking for?

Great idea. Maybe we can arrange a time to meet and organize soon?

That sounds good. I live near the Hopkins Homewood campus. Where do the rest of you who are interested live?

I, too, live near the Hopkins Homewood campus. However, I was thinking we could have our first time meeting in the Towson area, assuming it would be no farther than 20-30 minutes from everyone. (Sherri, I grew up in Baldwin so I know it is a bit of a trek into the city)

When is a good time for everyone? For example, weeknight evenings or weekend afternoons?

I'm starting a new job in D.C. soon, with commuting weeknight evenings may be tough. I think weekend afternoons are best for me. I'm new to Baltimore, but I'm semi-familiar with Towson. That's fine with me.

I think I posted a new thread rather than replying to current message. Either way I am interested in joining a cooking club in the Baltimore area. Please let me know if such a group is getting together.

Wondering when you all might be able to get together for an organizational meeting? I know this is Labor Day weekend, but if you're all in town, maybe we can meet Sunday afternoon? Or, maybe the following weekend (Septmeber 6/7)?

The weekend of the 9/6-7 is better for me.

Hello I see the Baltimore chapter is alive and well. The weekend of 9/6-7 is also better for me. Maybe we can meet at a restaurant for the first meeting. Maybe something on Charles Street; that is if it is convenient for everyone.

Charles Street is great for me. Others have suggested Towson. Either is fine, let's get a consensus.

Charles Street area is great for me too; I had suggested the Towson area, thinking it may be a more central location. What do you all think?

Maybe we could meet at a cafe for a drink on Sat/Sun afternoon? Let's see, on Charles Street, I can think of... Donna's, Xandos, and One World is close too. Just some suggestions. Please make some more, if you know of any better places.

I'd be very interested in joining! The weekend of September 6-7 works for me.

All of the places mentioned sound fine to me. One World is about a block from our apartment. Which day is better for those interested?

I would prefer late Sunday afternoon/early Sunday evening. I am free, however, on Saturday in the evening if that would be better for everyone else.

One World is located on University Parkway, right?

Mariajordan

Yes, it's on University Parkway. Sunday early evening is good for me as well.

Sunday afternoon/early evening is great! However, I believe One World closes early on Sunday (either 5 or 6) So would 3 work for eveyone? Or, we could pick an alternate location?

ErinW

One World *does* close at 5 on Sundays. I'm fine with meeting at 3.

OK, I've marked my calendar too (for next Sunday, 3pm, at One World). So far, it sounds like we have 4 of us meeting (myself included). I hope some of the others who had previously expressed interest will also join us. Looking forward to meeting all of you and starting the supper club.

I've just read this thread for the first time. Have you gotten together about establishing a club? Is there room for another? And can you fill me in on the details? Sounds like I'm in roughly the same area as a few other of you.

The group met last Saturday. We are planning our first dinner for October 4 at 7:00 p.m. So far we have 6 members. Our meeting went well and we are all eager to begin and to get to know one another.
cmuzquiz and Rio - if you are still interested, please email me at Jordan679@hotmail.com and I can give you more details about our Oct. 4 plans.
