Avatar issues - can't get it to stick

And here, all I wanted was a new Buckeye helmet as my avatar. Does the option of uploading it really not work? I can't save a .gif image to imagestation, and I don't have a personal site - at least not one I remember the password to edit. :D

Can anyone help me put this little guy up?
