View Full Version : Supper Club in Richardson or Plano Texas
08-26-2003, 08:25 PM
I'd like to know if anyone is interested in forming a supper club in the Richardson or Plano, TX area. Or if there's one I could join.

I am interested, but live close to downtown Dallas.
I'm near downtown also (White Rock Lake area)---maybe we'll find enough people in the "near-Dallas" area to get something started up...
Looks like there are 3 of us at least.

We have several members in your area;
email@example.com is in Frisco (Tammy)
Lynne_stokes@hotmail.com is in Addison
and June and Jerry are in Richardson. We are an eclectic group with young (30ish) and older (50ish) professionals spread out from North Fort Worth, Grapevine to Frisco.
There is another North Dallas group that formed 6 mos ago (?) , you may want to check the archives.

I live in North Dallas (Tollway and George Bush), but am easily mobile. We may even be moving farther north early next year. I would be interested in joining/starting a new club.

I live in Allen and am very interested in becoming a part of a supper club in the area. Let me know.

Why don't we all figure out the best time to get together.

This is my first time back, I keep forgetting to come check this. If anyone wants to email me about a time-----that would be great.

Friday or Sunday nights are good for me right now--weeknights are tough because I usually have to take work home with me. Are those good nights for anyone else?
09-09-2003, 09:58 PM
Some Fridays are good for me. I have a bible study on Sunday nights from 6-7:30, but I can meet after that.

i live in rockwall and would be interested in joining a supper club:p

I would be very interested in joining your supper club for the North Dallas Area. Is there still room? If not, does anyone have a recommendation of a club in the area. Me and my fiance are big foodies and would love to make some friends and enjoy more cooking light recipes that I haven't created in my kitchen.

I would be interested in a club close to downtown.
09-12-2003, 08:11 PM
Has there been a club started in the Plano area? I live in Allen and would like to participate. Let me know.

Let's actually set a date for everyone who is interested to get together and talk about the options. If we need to, we can split into a couple of groups (for example, downtown and North Dallas or girls only and couples). Is everyone game for Friday night, October 3rd? We can find a centrally located Starbucks or something.
09-13-2003, 10:57 PM
That's a good idea. Let me know what time.
09-14-2003, 11:54 AM
October 3 works for me. Where (Starbucks is a good idea) and what time.
Looking forward to meeting everyone.
09-15-2003, 07:50 AM
October 3 sounds good to me, what time?
09-15-2003, 08:59 AM
I know it will be hard to choose a centrally-located spot until we know where we are all coming from, but how about the Starbucks at Preston and Park? Maybe 6:00? Also, how many will be bringing their significant others?
09-15-2003, 07:15 PM
There are several Starbucks in the Preston/Park area - which one specifically? There is the one inside the Barnes & Noble on Preston and then there is one just east of Preston on Park (near Patrizio restaurant).
I will be joining the supper club solo.
09-15-2003, 10:01 PM
How about the Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble. I will be coming solo to start, but would like to get my husband involved at a later date. 6:00 PM is good for me.
09-16-2003, 09:13 AM
October 3rd will work for me. I can be solo, but I would like to incorpate my soon-to-be husband over the next few months. 6:00 p.m. at the Starbucks?
09-16-2003, 07:30 PM
I'll be solo too...look forward to meeting all of you.
10-01-2003, 11:04 AM
is this meeting still on?
10-01-2003, 12:03 PM
Yes! Friday, October 3rd at 6pm at the Starbuck's in Barnes & Noble at Preston & Park. I look forward to meeting all of you!
10-02-2003, 10:32 PM
Glad to hear we are still meeting. I was wondering too, just hadn't eamiled yet. See you all on Friday.
10-06-2003, 08:34 AM
Could someone please fill me in on Friday's meeting. I was unable to attend and I am still interested in joining a club.:)
10-06-2003, 09:04 AM
A few of us met Friday night and set up the framework for the first dinner. We decided on November 1st at 6:00 pm at my apartment. I will follow up with more details, but everyone set the date!!

Looks like the North Dallas (Plano/Richardson) group is in full swing, great!
Has a club been started in the Dallas (Downtown,/M Streets/White Rock) area? I would like to join or start one.
10-06-2003, 03:28 PM
I wasn't able to make the meeting either. Let me know when and where and what to bring.
SPUND - I'm fairly new to Dallas and live in the M Streets area. I would love to get a group together with anyone who live's closer to central Dallas. Is anyone interested?
10-13-2003, 11:48 AM
Did you get to meet on the Supper Club for North Dallas? I live in Plano and would like to find out on how it went.
10-14-2003, 08:00 PM
Ok, we are still on for November 1st at 6pm. At the meeting we decided that whoever is hosting the supper club for the month, would decide on the "theme" of the dinner. The hostess will provide the main dish, while everyone else volunteers their own side dishes, etc. We thought while the club was small and new it would be fun to actually prepare the meal together so we can learn from each other. For the first meal, I would like to propose a Casual French theme. I will be cooking "Cotes de Porc." I got the recipe right off the home page of the Cooking Light website. There are several recipes there to give you ideas, but please don't feel limited by those. I will also provide all of the drinks. We already have a volunteer for dessert and one for a side dish. Each person will be responsible for bringing the ingredients for their own dish. It may be necessary to cook some things ahead of time, but that can be decided as everyone decides on their dishes. Please e-mail me with the dish you would like to bring, along with the cooking materials (i.e. pans, processor, etc) and the cooking/baking method so I can determine if I have everything that is needed. At that time, I will send you directions to my home. My e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from all of you and hope we have a great turnout!!
10-14-2003, 08:04 PM
I also wanted to encourage each of you to bring a friend if you know of one who would be interested. If the group starts to get too big, we can certainly talk about splitting off into two groups. But, until then, the more the merrier!!
10-27-2003, 08:45 AM
Please let me know if you are coming and what you are bringing by 5pm on Wednesday. Thank you!! email@example.com

I think we tried to start the supper club at the wrong time of year. I've postponed this Saturday's dinner, and we'll try to start up again after the holidays. Thanks everyone!

I am probably late, but I see two members of a former club. We had a great time but most of the members lived in Fort Worth and the drive was just too long. I live really close to 75 just north of LBJ and am very interested in forming or joining a supper club. It is great fun and my daughter has been a member for 3 years of one. My husband is a custom home builder and I am a Realtor. I love to cook.
