I was reading the lastest Cooking Light on Supper Clubs and thought it would be a great way to meet people in Denver. I've been here about a year and would love to cook and meet new people. I live in Central Denver. If anyone is interested, let me know!

Count me in--I'm definitely interested. Before moving to Denver, I participated in a Supper Club, made some great friends, and would love to find a new club. I live in the Stapleton redevelopment area.

I am very interested in joining a Denver supper club. I belonged to one in the past, but some of the girls weren't that into it and it just sort of fizzled out.
I work as a private cook for two families, as well as cater small to medium size parties. Obviously, I love to cook and I enjoy meeting new people. I live in the Wash Park area of Denver. I can be reached at 303.715.5187.

Ok, I'm not sure what constitutes an appropriate number to begin a club but it seems like we are off to a great start. I unfortunately will be out of town (and likely out of touch) from Sept. 5 through Sept. 14. So if we want to try to do a planning/introduction meeting, I would prefer scheduling something after that. Any ideas on where and when or am I jumping the gun?

I too was reading the latest issue and thought it would be a great idea to start a supper club in the Denver area. I've been here for two years and live near Govenor's Park. Mid September works great for me, please let me know how we can get started!

I'm getting married on Sept. 20th so probably won't be available for any meetings until Oct. Please go ahead without me though and I can get the information from someone else. If everyone else is ready to meet, I don't want to hold the process up.
The supper club I used to be in usually had the hostess picking the theme and preparing the entree, then everyone else brought the appropriate side dishes. That seemed to work out well for that particular group. I'm up for just about anything with this new group!

I would like to join the supper club too! I've recently moved to Denver and I'd like to meet more people who love to cook!

Sounds like we have some good interest. Let me know who is interested in meeting to determine what we want out of the club. I'm thinking Wednesday Sept 24 - a little while away, but might work best with everyone's calendar. Any suggestions on a place?

Aloha!! (preparing for my vacation tomorrow)
Sept. 23d and 24th are out for me due to work obligations (depositions that will likely run late). If that day works best for everyone else, go for it and just count me in for October's plans. But, if it is still up in the air, I vote for other days (my schedule otherwise looks very open!).
Sorry to be a scheduling-pain. I'm very excited about the prospect of a new cooking group.

Sounds great to meet in late September. I suggest we meet somewhere in Cherry Creek, which seems to be a central location for everyone. I'm still new to the area, so I wouldn't know which restaurant to recommend.

I'd love to join the club too! I just moved here last week and I happened to pick up Cooking Light and saw the Supper Club article. I'm out of town the week of Sept 22 - 28, but I'll keep an eye out for when other meetings are going to be held.

I don't know if this group is getting too big, but it sounds like a lot of fun and I'd love to join up if there's room. It sounds like there are quite a few newcomers to CO, like me, so it would be fun way to meet people and eat some great food. What a great combination! Just name a date and time and I'll do my best to be there!

I don't know if you already have too many for this group but I would be interested if you still have room. I live in Aurora and can easily meet in the Cherry Creek area--the evening of the 24th would work for me.

I'm happy to host on the night of the 24th (I live in Govenor's Park, near the intersection of Speer and 6th Ave).
Please email me at cmisage@yahoo.com if you are able to attend.

It looks like this is growing fast, but I'd love to join if there is room. It sounds like a fun way to meet some new people and a great excuse to try new recipes. I'm also a recent Denver Transplant, love to cook and live in Central Denver.

I'm curious how the first meal went on the 24th... I noticed an offshot from this thread is discussing meeting on the 10th of October. Anyone else interested??

I am definitely interested in a meeting on the 10th. Sounds like there are enough people for two groups (at least). I would love to meet new friends and try some new recipes! I don't have a home big enough to host a meeting, but we could meet Downtown or on South Gaylord Street that evening...
Anyone interested can email me at cindymsewell@yahoo.com

I was going to post my own search for a Supper Club today, and so it's exciting to see some (2?) in progress. Anyway, I could meet on Oct 10. Please let me know. Gaylord, Cherry Creek or Downtown all sound okay. Thanks!
