Can you refreeze fish?

I just bought some cod fillets from trader joes and they are already frozen, but to make the recipe i want to make, i need to thaw the fish, we won't eat it all in one meal so I'm wondering, Can you refreeze fish?

p.s. i lived on the east coast and could always get FRESH fish,(thats what i'm used to cooking with and buying exactly the amount needed), living in the desert fresh fish is very hard to come by

I believe once your seafood is frozen and thawed it cannot be refreezed raw.
