Just wondering if there are any current clubs in Ocean or Monmouth
that have room for 1 more.
If not, anyone like to get one started? I'm 27, married, and live in Bayville NJ.
Thanks! - Rose

Hi Rose,
I live in Ocean ity, which I think it's probably a little far, but maybe we could get a group that would be somewhere in between.
I just moved last month and would like to get out, meet new people and enjoy some great food.
Hopefully we can get something going!

I am also new to the Ocean County area and am interested in meeting new people. I heard of these supper clubs from a member who has had positive results, unfortuneatly she lives too far for me to join. Let me know if we can get a group together. I am now living in Waretown and am not sure how far that is from you.

Let me know how you would like to get things started.

Hi girls, looks like we have a group starting.
It looks like we are all within a half hour from eachother, except
I'm not sure about where exactly Ocean City is. Do we want to wait
for a couple more people who are interested in joining our group
before we talk about meeting and all the other details?
Let me know what you think. - Rose

Hi everyone,
According to mapquest, it looks like I'm about an hour from both Waretown and Toms River. I AM willing to drive to meet up with everyone. And maybe sometime in the future we could do a meeting at my place.
For now, I think with four people we could start having conversations about a first meeting. I like the idea of having the first meeting be at a coffee place or restaurant. Get together, get to know each other, see what people are up to or interested in regarding food and cooking. Maybe for the first meeting, it could be a little south of where you guys live, seeing that most of our meetings will probably be further up at your houses.
What do you all think? And what days/times are generally good for everyone? I have a pretty flexible schedule currently.
Looking forward to it...

Hi Megan
I like the idea of meeting at a coffee house/restaurant in south
Jersey. Are you somewhat close to Pomona or Mays Landing by the
Hamilton Mall? There's some restaurants there like T.G.I.F and
Ruby Tuesdays.
My schedule kind of stinks because I go to school Monday through
Thursday and work Friday until 2:30. Weekends would be best for
me if that's good with everyone else.
What do you guys think?

Hi,
Hope everyone had a great weekend and was able to enjoy the beautiful weather!
I think meeting someplace would be a great idea, also. I have a pretty flexable schedule, except Tuesday nights I take a knitting class...other than that Im pretty much free.
I live in Toms River, but Im willing to meet where ever is good for anyone else. Someone mentioned the Hamilton Mall area...Im about 30-35 minutes from there.
I think this is such a great idea, I am so excited to be meeting all of you soon.

I can make weekends work. The next 2 are pretty busy for me. I am the maid of honor in my sister's wedding on the 19th.
The May's Landing area is fine with me. I could probably do something the following weekend, which is the 26th-28th. We could even meet for lunch, if that worked for everyone, since weekends can be precious. What do you think?

Hi everyone
The weekend of the 26th works fine for me too. I guess we're just
waiting to see if Laura is able to make it then.
I'll check back tomorrow.

Hi everyone,
I completely forgot that on September 27th (Saturday)I am having my roof fixed and I need to be home that day....
I will still be available if everyone is able to meet for lunch the next day, September 28th (Sunday).
Sorry about the mix up,

Hi Jenn
The 28th works for me. I guess we should all figure out where
exactly we want to go for lunch. Does anyone have a preference?

I'm pretty certain the 28th works for me.
I don't know too many places around the area, yet. Though Scott and I did eat at a place a few weeks ago that was really good and not a chain restaurant. Let me find out the name and we can see if that works for us.

Hi,
I was just wondering if it was definitl decided that we were meeting on the 28th?
I'm not really sure what would be a good place to meet, distance wise, for everyone.
There is a great coffee house here in Toms River, and there is another one that I know of in Belmar. There are some cute cafes in Freehold if we are going to meet more north...If anyone else has any suggestions or can think of a more convienent location please let us know.
Keep in touch,
Jenn

Hi everyone
As far as places to meet is concerned, I think we
were going to try somewhere in the south Jersey area, since
Megan lives in Ocean City and we will be having our usual
get togethers in Toms River area the majority of the time.
I'm not up on any cool places south of the Manahawkin area, but
it sounds like Megan is working on finding out the name of one.
I think we at least have the date confirmed though (the 28th).
Talk to you all soon - Rose

Sorry it's taken me a little while to get back to you guys.
The place I was thinking of is East Bay Crab and Grille. It's in Egg Harbor, I think. The website is http://www.eastbaycrab.com/
There are directions on the website. Let me know if it seems too far for you guys.
I emailed Laura just now to see if she is still interested in joining us.
Talk to you soon.

Do you guys want to plan another date to get together for lunch?

Hi!
I was confused. I knew we hadn't confirmed yesterday, so I didn't think we were meeting, but when I came onto the board to check for sure I couldn't find our thread. I don't know if it was me but...
I had gotten a response from Laura. I don't know if you've seen her new thread. With family responsibilites and time, she didn't want to exclude her husband from her weekend plans. So she's trying to get together a couples group. I would love to do that, but Scott isn't really into it right now. He's not as into cooking as I am and he's pretty busy a lot of the time.
So when are you guys free?
-Megan
Hello.
I am new to the Supper Club site and just noticed your posts. I am very interested in joining a club in the area. I live in the South Jersey area--about 40-45 minutes from the areas mentioned. Would you be willing to include one more person in your next get together?
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Vanita,
We would definitely love to have you join us! I think we were all feeling like it would be nice to have more than just the three of us.
As you have maybe figured out from our posts, we have not yet had a first meeting, so you haven't missed a thing.
What days tend to work best for you? We've been talking about first meeting at a restaurant for lunch, to meet and get to know each other, see what will work best for us.
Where do you live? As you may have seen, Jenn and Rose are a little further north (Tom's River/Bayville areas) and I am in Ocean City.
We are looking forward to getting together soon and also learning more about you and what you're interested in.
Talk to you soon.
Megan
Hello Ladies...
I would love to join you all. I can see that you are sorting out dates for a first meeting. No restrictions on dates for me--aside from traveling that my husband & I have planned. I am game to meet up for lunch.
I live in Marlton, NJ. I call it "South Jersey", but everyone in Jersey seems to have their own definition of North and South. Basically, I am about 25 minutes from Philly, and about 1+ hr from most of the cities you mentioned. However, I am willing to drive, so that won't be an issue.
I look forward to settling on a date and getting a chance to meet everyone!

Hi guys....
The east bay crab looks GREAT!
so when is the next time that is good for everyone to meet up? This weekend is not good for me because I have my daughter with me all weekend (she alternates weekends betwwen me and her dad) and I don't like to send her to a babysitter on "our" weekends.
Whats good for everyone else?
Jenn
Sounds like we need to decide on a date that work for all of us...how about next Sunday, October 12th?

Yup, 12 noon on the 12th.
Since none of us will recognize eachother,
should we all wait outside the restaurant at the front
entrance until we're all there?

Hey!
It was great to meet you guys. It's nice to establish new relationships. I'm looking forward to our first "official" meeting on Nov 15th. I'm starting to think about what I want to make. I am going to have that be my "free" day. That way I can really enjoy all our great food!
It works out well because Scott and his son, Cameron, are trying to get Elton John tickets for that night, so they'll be occupied and won't feel left out.
Talk to you all soon!

Hi everyone
I had fun meeting everyone last weekend. I'm
thinking about some ideas for our first meeting
too. So far, I'm thinking about making spring rolls
and mini crab rangoons. Or, maybe I'll just
bring some left-over cole slaw ;)

Hi girls
Jenn - I never heard of Vampire wine. I'm guessing it's a red wine?
I'm still tossing around recipe ideas for our meeting. Speaking of that, is the 15th still our date? It's coming up quick, actually next weekend!
I would be happy to host the first meeting at my house.
Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Hi Jenn
Wine from Transylvania, sounds really cool! Halloween is
my absolute favorite holiday too. This Halloween wasn't
very exciting for me though. No halloween parties and my favorite
Halloween special (Scariest Places On Earth) didn't come on tv
this year. Oh well, better luck next year.

Hi everyone
I guess we screwed up our meeting for the 15th. I guess we should try picking a new date, huh?I don't have any weekends that won't work(except for the holiday weekends of course).
Is anytime in December good for you guys?
Hope to talk to ya soon!

Sorry about not responding lately. I have been out of the country for the last 3 weeks and prior to that I was traveling, too. Also, my apologies about missing the 15th. December might be a tough month for everyone b/c of the holidays. Should we consider January?

You guys can reach me on my home email at meggallagher@comcast.net
