Hi...My name is Jenn and I live in Toms River, New Jersey. I love cooking, eating, entertaining, trying new foods, and I would LOVE to start a supper club in and around the Toms River area.
If anyone out there is from the Toms River/Ocean County area and is looking to make new friends who share a love of cooking, please respond and we will work out the details!
Happy cooking,
Jenn

Hi Jenn,
I just moved to Waretown last week and would love to be a part of a supper club and meet new people. I also enjoy cooking. I am a stay at home mom with two young children. I just recently subscribed to Cooking Light magazine and have a friend from my old town who belongs to a supper club - and she had positive results. Please let me know what you would like to do.
Thanks, Laura

:)
Hi Laura. Its nice to hear from you. I've never done anything like this before but I know other people who belong to supper clubs and have a really great time with them. Since you are the only person to respond so far, we should wait until a few more people are interested before any plans are made.
What types of foods do you like to cook? Do you have any specialities? Is there any type of food, cusine, or cooking style that you would like to try, but have not done yet?
I cook normal "quick" family meals during the week and spend more time on cooking and trying new things on the weekends. Iv'e been using the bbq a lot lately on all kinds of things, including seafood. I really like mediterrian foods but I have not had much experience with cooking this at home. Its funny...my family gets tired of chicken and pasta dishes quickly, but isn't too quick to try new foods, either. So I kind of sneek them in.
I hope this supper club will give everyone a chance to share and try some unique recipies as well as family favorites!

Hi Jenn, thanks for responding. I, also, have never done anything like this before. Being new to the area, I left behind friends and am anxious to make new ones. I love to cook and entertain in my home but cooking for my husband, honestly, is a bore. He only likes chicken breast, but they have to be cutlets, meatloaf, and pasta. He likes very few vegetables and fruit, and no fish (except shrimp). I advised him he needs to start eating different varieties of food - at least to set an example for our children. My son already, age 2, does not like veggies.
Anyway, I love to watch the food network alot. I also love entertaining, which allows me to try new foods or recipes. So far, I have become very good at making tasty appetizers, such as spinach dip in a bread bowl and my very famous Hot garlic artichoke dip. Desserts for some reason, I am not very good at, but would love to improve. For my son's birthday last month, I made an ice cream cake blue's Clues - which came out spectacular. Your Mediteranean cuisine sound exciting - I am going to have to look into that. My specialties would have to be the Italian cuisine, although I need to work on my Marinara sauce (or as us Italians call it, Gravy!!) LOL. I enjoy Mexican, but just as yourself, find myself resorting to the same old meals - the ones that are quick. Having two young children and very active, I really do not consider dinner until my husband comes home and asks me "Honey, what's for dinner?" I then think to myself, "Oh crap, it's that time again." and whip up something quick.
Anyway, I have written to other members, so hopefully we can get up a group and all get together. I am looking forward to this. Talk to you soon, Laura

Hi girls! I just saw that you all replied to my post
for the 20 something's club, so I figured I should
catch up with you here on Jenn's post.
I live in Bayville, been here about 3 years. None of
my friends are very interested in cooking, and I'm excited
to get together with some people who love food as much as
I do! Like Jenn, I usually wind up making quick meals during
the week. Usually it's some kind of chicken dish. I go to Rutgers
in New Brunswick 4 days a week, so I'm too busy for anything
gourmet on weeknights. I can't say I have a favorite type of
cuisine because I love all kinds of food. I've definately
mastered chicken! I love Indian food, and have experimented
with some recipes, but I don't think I have it perfected yet.
I would really like to learn how to cook fish because it's so
good for you. The only fish I've ever cooked is founder, boring!
Well, I hope to talk to you all soon. I think we'll have alot of
fun. - Rose

Hey everyone,
I posted a reply on Rose's thread, if you don't mind checking there. I guess we should decide on which we'll communicate on.
Looking forward to getting this started...
Megan
