Do they charge receiving a call for cell phone?

This might be a stupid question, but does cell phone company charge the minutes when you received the call, too?? I have Sprint PCS and we're using it as regular home phone. Checking our account, I realized it looks like they're charging for getting some calls from someone else to our phone????

How about if you call the voicemail service? Or Sprint customer service??? Do you have any experience (or expert in the industry would be great;) )??? If that's the case, we might have to rethink getting our regular phone back....

I believe you get charged the minutes for all calls dialed/ recieved, including voicemail, excluding calling customer service.

I don't know how much variance there is between providers, but my cell phone company (AT&T) charges for all calls made and received from/to my cell phone, including customer service, information, voicemail, etc.

The only things I don't get charged for are busy signals or when I call my cell phone voicemail from a land line to listen to messages.

I've got Verizon. They charge for making and receiving calls, including checking messages.

The way we've worked it, we just use our land line (what a funny name, if you think about it) for local calls, and use our cell phones for all long distance. It works out to be the cheapest method.

Hi Nori! We get so many "free" minutes each month and then we are charged for any calls inbound or outbound. The free minutes are also used up with inbound calls. I believe we do pay when we access voice mail, too. I don't get many messages, but DH always complains about how people leave him very long messages and use up his time. When I call him, I just hang up when I get his voice mail. Then he can see my phone number on his phone and know that I called without me having to leave a message. We have T-Mobile as a provider.

I can wait to see my phone bill for last month since I used it to call home and to call my mom during the black out. Then my boss called me twice the next day to talk about a project. :eek:

I have sprint...yes, it counts toward your minutes either way. You can get unlimited PCS to PCS for a couple extra dollars a month.

Thanks everyone. Wow,it's kind of eye-opening for me:o that they charge for incoming calls also. Even voice mail? I should be more careful about that.

hlao...I'll look into unlimited options, if possible. Mine got 300 anytime minutes and 1000 anytime minutes. Thanks for your information.;)

I've got SprintPCS...if you want to check the number of minutes have used you can go to sprintpcs.com OR you can press *4 talk(but do this during your unlimited time as this also counts toward your usage.)
