Just curious about them. Are they more expensive than regular lenses? Do they really do the job and respond quickly to changes in light? TIA

I posted a thread on this almost a year ago....

I ordered mine and am expecting them in about a week or two.
I'll post back and let you know what I think of them :)

I've had transitions for years, yes they are more expensive but I worth it to me. My blue eyes are sensitive so they are perfect for all around glasses. I also wear dark sunglasses when I know I am going to be outside alot.

My DH has had them for years and the only thing he's found wrong is the protective coating. He had it on the last pair and once it got scratched they were horrible! He would get terrible headaches from it.

Had them for a while...got rid of them b/c everytime someone took a flash picture it looked like I was wearing sun glasses. I just keep prescription sunglasses now.

My DH has them and loves them. His first pair, several years ago, didn't darker enough. But they seem to be making them better now because his latest pair work great. He has gotten them at Costco.

I had the same experience with my first pair. I took them back to store and asked them to remove the protective coating and was much happier with them. I now have my second pair. They are titanium, lightweight and stylish and I can see very well at all stages. I can't even imagine having to use glasses with lines in them. I also think this is much easier for my brain to process. They are pricey. I hope that over time they can come down in price. Also, you can get clip on or magnitized lenses for the sun at very reasonable prices.

Are you speaking of the "invisi-line" glasses??
Transitions are the lenses that darken and lighten depending on sunlight...or am I goofing this up??

Wallycat you are not goofing up. I am. My brain is working on it's own today. My glasses have Verilux lenses and I did get the coating on my first pair. Hated it. I don't recommend it at all. As far as transitions lenses go, I had a pair years ago and decided that I didn't want my glasses deciding for me when to darken. Maybe they have changed since then. I don't know but I would be interested in hearing other comments.
