I'm interested in joining an already established supper club preferably in the south end of Seattle or starting a new one. I could drive to Seattle (only 20 minutes) or West Seattle but was just wondering if there were any people interested closer. Anything out there?

Hi, we currently belong to a supper club that is in the North end. However, we just moved to Renton and would like to be part of one that is in this area, Kent/Tukwila/Renton/Issaquah/Burien, those sort of areas. We are going to stick with our other one since I work up north, but it would be nice to cook with and meet people closer to where we live.

Hi Elissa,
I'm glad you're interested in joining another one! I've never been in a supper club so maybe you can suggest how to structure it. I think the magazine said to keep this post up for a few weeks and see what interest there is. If there's not more, we could get a few friends in the vicinity and start our own that way. It sounds really fun. How is the North Seattle one? Do you include your families?

Thanks for the email, Laren. I am in the Normandy Park area and so a Burien area club would be perfect. I have a 10 year old girl and husband. Let me know if families would be included. I have never been part of a supper club either. I just read about it on this site and in the magazine and it sounds like fun. :)

Great! We have 3 famililies interested. I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and wouldn't mind if kids/spouses were included but I can go either way. I've read on others that the spouses/non cookers watch the kids while the cookings going on. Elissa, do you have kids? Let's see if there's more interest over the next couple weeks and then schedule an initial meeting maybe end of Sept. Sound good?

My geography is pretty bad, but we just moved to Issaquah. Is this close to you guys? We have 3(!) kids and I have been wanting to get involved in a supper club.

Let me know!!

Hi Karen,
Issaquah is northeast of the Burien area. It takes around 30-45 minutes to get there depending on traffic. I think there is a supper club on the Eastside, in Bellevue I think, that would be much closer to you.

With the supper club that we are currently part of we meet once monthly. For us it worked best to have it on a weeknight and we bring things more potluck style. The last couple of months we have started doing more preparation at the hosts home. Before we leave for the evening we decide on a theme for the next month. Then the host sends out an invitation from www.evite.com, and all of the participants respond and then include what they are bringing. I have read that for groups that are going to be doing the cooking together (which we would love to start doing) then they usually decide what each person will purchase due to cost, etc. I do not have children, but both my boyfriend and I would be happy to be part of a group that is more family oriented, as long as everyone wants to cook!! The last week of September is kind of challenging for me, but it also depends on what day or weekend day we want to meet together. Looking forward to it!

I am also a member of another supper club, but would love to be part of a group that includes children, too. My daughter is 6 and already loves to cook. We live in West Seattle, so a south end group would be perfect for us. Please let me know if a first meeting has been scheduled. Thanks!

Hi Lynn,
Sorry for the delay. Glad you're interested! We haven't set up a meeting yet but we said the end of Sept, and we're getting close! I guess we should proceed using group emails at this point about the date/place/time of our first meeting. I'll get that going. If anyone else out there is interested, continue posting to this board.
Thanks,
Laren

Hi all,
I'm interested in joining a south Seattle supper club. I live in the Auburn/Federal Way area. Are you accepting more people? I don't have children but I do have a husband. ;)
