Hello, I am a Wake Law Student and would love to get involved in a supper club. Obviously the distance is a bit of a problem but depending on what day you meet I would like to be involved. thanks, Jim

I am definitely interested in a supper club. I just moved to Winston-Salem. I hope we can get this going!

I posted last year about starting one and live in W-S as well. Should we wait for more people? Arrange to meet each other now?

I would love to get together now and get even a small group started. I wish I could bring someone with me, but I don't really know anyone yet! Did you get any responses at all last time you tried to get this going? I guess we would have 3 to start with--unless either of you are married (I am not). Just let me know what you think!

I'm interested in a Winston Salem supper club also. I've been watching the boards for a while to see if there was any interest in this area. I have a co-worker who might join us, and there were a few other people that expressed interest in the past on the boards that I will try to contact. Let me know when you want to meet.

That is great! I have been in a cooking club before and what we did is have it once every other month on a Saturday night. The host or hostess did the main course (and drinks!) and the other people did all the side dishes and desserts. We just sort of alternated houses. I would be happy to host the first one--how about some time in October?

That could work. Should we plan on meeting first? A lot of the clubs featured in the magazine met at a restaurant or for coffee first so everyone could see each other and form a game plan. Like will they be light dinners? will they have a theme? etc.

That is an excellent idea! Let me know if you want me to help set anything up, or if I can help in any way. Talk to you soon.

well, my schedule is all over the place. When do people want to meet? I am 27, a teacher and married in case anyone wants to know. We could meet at a restaurant or a Starbucks. Should we do it on a weekend or weeknight?

Maybe for the first meeting a weeknight at a Starbucks would work. I am pretty open during the week, I work out a few nights a week, but it never matters when (and I always look for reasons not to go anyway!). I am 43; my husband passed away 8 years ago, and I work full time. Look forward to hearing back.

Hello,
My husband and I moved to Winston-Salem in July. I (or possibly we) would be interested in a supper club. I read some of the earlier postings and saw that several people were going to meet to start one. Would someone let me know if anything is happening and is there would be space for new members? I would like to meet more people around here and I enjoy cooking. Thanks!

Suzanne, yes, we have definitely made some progress and are planning to have our first event next Saturday night, November 8th. We would love to have you and your husband join us. There should be 10 or so of us. Does that night work for you? If so, let me know how I can reach you (email is great) so I can give you more information! Hope to see you! Barbara

Hi,
I just read about supper clubs in Cooking Light and was excited to see that one was starting in Winston-Salem. I have lived here for a little over three years. Is there still room for new members- I think my boyfriend would like to participate as well. We both like to cook. Thanks!
