I have a recipe for "fettucine with creamy tomato and sausage" that looks great but very heavy. It call for 1 cup whipping cream. Is this the same as heavy cream? Any ideas for a substitute that would be lighter? Thanks!

Yes, heavy and whipping are the same. You could probably substitute half and half to reduce the fat content. My substitution list says 2 cups whipped for 1 cup heavy but that is because of the volume of the whipped.
