Good question about the number of members in a club. There aren't any hard and fast rules, but the issue becomes one of accommodating the number of people that may want to attend any given gathering. My sense is that other clubs stop at around 8 plus significant others - potentially 16 guests at a gathering. LyLy raises a good point of not all being able to attend each gathering. But it seems to me that it's easier to plan and host each gathering if the number of guests is manageable.
