I'm interested in starting or joining a supper club. I live in Germantown, MD and am willing to travel to any area between Germantown and Chevy Chase. If you're interested, please let me know.
I might be interested as well. :) Any other takers?
There's another Mont. Co. thread floating around here, too, so I don't know if they've made any plans...

I'd be interested, too. I replied to the other post about forming a Montgomery county group, but there's been no action, so...
Weeknights are better for me unless it's a couples group and I'd bring him along!

I'm so happy to see that there's some interest! I, too, have posted to the other thread for a Montgomery County club but don't see it moving. So, I will give this thread a few days and by mid week this week, I'll arrange a meeting at a restaurant for those of us that are interested and we can get cooking! I'm exicted to get this started. For those that have expressed interest and anyone new, please let me know what areas are best for you to meet at a restaurant. Weeknights are better for me too.

Weeknights are usually fine for me, except for Wednesdays starting October 22. I have a dog and we have enrolled him in obedience classes and they are every Wednesday from 10/22 through 1/7/04. So Wednesdays are out for me.
Will this be a couples group or just women? I am good either way. Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Right now, I'd prefer a singles group over a couples group -- long story. A night other than Wednesdays is fine with me. Stay tuned for a few more days and let's see if there are a few more people, then I'll set up a meeting. Cheers - Jillian.

I understand. I don't think my husband would really be interested in it anyway. We tried to join a supper club once before and he was disappointed in the mix of couples. I'm 29 and he is 31 and he was hoping for people closer to our age, I think we were the youngest people in the group. So singles is fine with me.

Great! Glad to hear that! I'm 31 also and would really like to meet some new people.

There is another thread for Montomery County that you've probably seen. They are kicking off that one, so I think we should join forces to get enough people. The other thread offered up the first meeting on October 15 at a restaurant in Rockville. I'll be there. On Oct. 15, I guess we should talk about how often to meet, what nights to meet, whether we rotate homes, cook together or do pot-luck, how to divide the bills, etc. I'm looking forward to this. A great restaurant in Rockville where we could meet is called "Taste of Saigon" (delicious and fresh Vietnamese food). They are usually quieter on the weekdays than weekends. (Hope -- I hope Wed. Oct. 15 is OK with you. If not, we can suggest another day. I think you said Wednesdays are out after 10/22.) Cheers - Jillian

Good Idea Jillian. October 15th is fine. The obedience classes start on the 22nd so I'm good. I know the restaurant, it's near the new Giant on Rockville Pike. I live in King Farm so that place is nice and convenient for me. But anywhere is fine.
Hope to see you there!

Hi, I just wanted to post on this forum since I will be coordinating the meeting on Oct. 15. I am really glad that you will be joining us and I hope that this way we will have enough people to do this well. I have requested that those that will be coming, email me at cookonut1@aol.com so that I can communicate with you individually. If you have any ideas or concerns that you want to share prior to the meeting please feel free to do so. I have gotten several requests for places to meet and will send out an email in a few days with the restaurant and a list of items to consider for the meeting. I look forward to lots of good food!
