Did anyone else notice that the South Beach Diet Online ad on the top of the BB page says, "Lose 8-13 pounds in 2 weeks! No exercise, no cravings, no forbidden foods." It just makes me angry that here we are on a HEALTHY LIVING board and there's an add to loose weight without exercise. What type of healthy message is that? Grrrrrr...
OK- I'll stop venting now.

Well, I'm living proof that you can lose weight (30+ pounds) without exercising and just by changing my diet. Am I healthier than I was before I lost the 30 pounds....probably. Would I be healthier if I exercised, sure!
On a more cynical note, do you really think that CookingLight approves the copy of the advertisiers?

I've pretty much learned to ignore the ads up top unless someone mentions it...;) ! I figure if we have to have advertising to keep this site up and running for free then it's an annoyance I can live with. And really what's the difference which diet is being advertised? Weight Watchers' line is "Eat whatever you like!" or something to that effect, no difference JMHO!

... or unless the batter spills down the page like that Bisquick ad did months ago. That was a REAL annoyance.

Ya know, I never had that happen on my computer but I admit that it would be very annoying!

I would read those and wonder why I didn't get the "spill" , sort of felt I was missing out...not! :D

I never got the spill either. I saw the threads talking about it, but I was never a victim of it.

I never got it either. I even turned off my pop-up stopper to see if I could see it, but I couldn't.
Guess I'm not special enough! ;) :p

I guess the ads don't bother me too much. The South Beach diet isn't for me, but it does seem to concentrate on healthy foods and none of the SBD articles say exercise is a bad idea. I can think of worse things to advertise.
