For those that have purchased/use a Graco Pack 'n Play with a "raised" changing table, check out this recall

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml03/03189.html

Lainey wiggles and flips so much when trying to change her diaper that we haven't used the changing table in awhile. Not sure if the table locks on in the raised versions or why the parent couldn't release the child before strangulation. Anyway something to check out.

Thanks for the heads up! We have that Graco but have never used the changing table. I'm so glad you brought this to our attention, though, because I would never want to sell it or pass it on to an unsuspecting parent!

DH read the whole recall and said all that's being changed is you get a sticker or something to put on it, saying not to leave the changing table on when you use the rest of it. I was thinking the baby was on the table and somehow flipped over and got his head stuck between the table and the side of the "crib" part and I wondered how the parent couldn't release the child, but DH thought it more likely the 13 month old was left sleeping in it with the table on and somehow pushed his head up between the table and the side of crib. I can at least see how that happens, but you really should leave the table on ever and I think my version says that.

Anyway I wouldn't throw your pack 'n play away and would feel comfortable passing it along to another parent as long as they know to not leave the table on.

Thanks Kim! I sent it to my sister who is about to have a baby.

I never had the changing table part even in the same room when my kids were past a couple months old. I wouldn't even think a 13 month old would still fit on it for a diaper change. That is really sad though.
