I have not made this, yet, but found it on another cooking bulletin board. Thought it might be good to add to the Oreo file along with Oreo Cheesecake, Oreo Crunch Brownies, and Oreo Chunk cookies!

OREO COOKIE POUND CAKE

25 Oreo cookies
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. milk
1 c. butter-flavored shortening
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tps vanilla
4 large eggs

Chocolate Glaze

6 oz semisweet chocolate chips
3 Tbsp butter flavored shortening
1 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp corn syrup

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour a 9-inch fluted cake pan.

Cut each cookie into quarters.

In large bowl, with mixer at low speed, beat shortening and sugar together. Add remaining ingredients; Turn mixer on high and beat 2 min., scraping bowl after 1 min. Spoon 3/4 c. batter into pan. Stir cut up cookies into remaining batter and spoon over top of first layer. Bake 50 min. or until springs back when lightly touched (tooth pick test will not work on the cake) Cool cake on rack for about 10 min.; remove from pan; cool on rack.

When cake is cool, prepare Chocolate Glaze. Place rack with cake over large plate or sheet pan to catch drips, then pour warm glaze over top and side of cake.

Chocolate Glaze:

In 1-quart sauce pan over low heat, heat chocolate chips, shortening, milk, and corn syrup, stirring constantly until melted and smooth.

Enjoy,
Shannon

Just what we need - here's another that came with my new Pampered Chef food chopper (my mom buys the best presents!) I haven't tried it but how can you go wrong with Oreos, marshmallow creme, and frozen yogurt?

And does anyone know of a way to make your own marshmallow creme out of regular marshmallows? Can I just melt them in the microwave?

Thanks!

Ok, the above recipe makes me giggle because it reminds me of that cartoon someone posted that reminded them of us. One of the women was wearing a shirt that said "I (heart) Imperial"...:D

Shannon,

I think you should eat a big piece of it and report back.

Here is how to make your own marshmallow creme. I got this information from www.foodsubs.com

marshmallow creme = marshmallow fluff Shopping hints: Kraft is a well-known brand. To make your own: Gently heat 16 ounces of marshmallows plus 1/4 cup corn syrup in a double boiler, stirring constantly

Made the Grasshopper Torte today - did a 1/2 batch and put it in mini-springforms. I topped with mini oreos.

It was nice and minty without being overpowering. The frozen yogurt was perfectly creamy and smooth with the addition of whipped cream and marshmallow creme. The oreos were not obvious a la oreo chunk cookies, but you can easily correct that by adding broken up oreos (or mini oreos) into the ice cream mixture before freezing. :)

I'll definitely be making more versions of this in the future. I've got some rum extract I think I may try instead of mint!

My mom used to make a frozen grasshopper pie with Creme de Menthe. She was not a chocolate eater (I know, I don't understand it either), so I never had it with the oreos, but I bet it'd be great!
