Promise Fat Free Non Fat Margerine appears to have no fats (trans fats etce) but it doesn't say that it is non hydrogenated so it the healthiest? Healthy Balance is non hydrongenated but has a lot more calories and fat. So which ( doesen't have to be one of these two)is best for my health? Thanks

I have been using Benecol for several years and it really dropped the cholesterol count since that was the only change I made in diet. Even my Dr. recommended it. Use Benecol lite which is lower in calories and fat. Even Healthy Balance has a lite version.

I pretty much use it for everything even tho it doesn't "melt" like margarine or butter. But no trans fat is a plus for me.

land-o-lakes is now making a sort of 1/2 butter and 1/2 canola oil blended together for easy spreadability.

Spectrum spread also has no trans fats.

Benecol is more expensive and they recommend you eat a lot to get the cholesterol lowering effects.

My dietician recommends Olivio.

We really like Spectrum. You can bake with it or fry if you desire AND it is inexpensive!
