:p
I would like to start a supper club in the Sunnyvale, Mt. View etc.. areas. I love the idea of getting together with new friends to do some cooking, a little wine tasting and some great conversation!
Happy to include anyone who is interested, wherever you may live!
Let's get cooking!

I would be interested in starting a Supper Club in Sunnyvale. I saw there was also someone else interested in starting one in Sunnyvale. I'll send her an email to see if she's still interested. Tina

Has this group been formed? I think I may be interested. I'm in Santa Clara.

Courtney, I have not been contacted regarding setting up a new group. You and I could plan on getting together, and then we'll start contacting others who have expressed interest to see if we could expand the group. Thoughts?

I've been toying with the Supper Club idea. It would be fun to start a brand new one. I saw some of you responded to the San Jose one. Did you end up attending?

Just looking through the Supper ClLub posts and wondered if y'all ever got a group together, and, if so, if you have any interest in another member? I'm in Santa Clara.

Hi, I would also be interested in joining a supper club, but I would like to keep it small, maximum 6. I live in San Jose, near Saratoga and 280. Did you get any other responses?

Hi Andrea,
I posted on the San Jose Supper Club thread where tricia_26 also posted & have since been in email contact with Tricia. I think we're going to try to get a group together - hopefully with the September issue having an article on supper clubs there will be more people interested in joining!

Andrea,
I did hear from one other person. She mentioned that the CL supper club issue will be out in Sept. and that we may have more interest after that. She also lives in San Jose and I live in Santa Clara (San Tomas & Homestead).
We agreed to keep in touch and to post again in Sept. so that we could form a group in Sept./Oct. Shall we keep you posted as well? My e-mail is Tricia_26@hotmail.com.
Cheers,
Trish

OK - Keep me posted. I can only accomodate up to 6 people at my house for a sit-down. Anyone going to the "Classic French" Cooking Light event at the Hayes Mansion (I got something in the mail about it)

At my place, I can only accomodate 6 people for a sit-down meal as well. So I'm with you on that. However, even though my place is small, I could fit more for a tapas type meal. In addition, if we ever wanted to, I do work at at retirement community in Santa Clara with a good activity room that has a kitchen - could be fun if we ever need a larger place.
I am interested in the cooking light event - what's the scoop as far as date, time, and price? Are you planning on going?

Kim,
Thanks for the info. I just heard from Andrea directly and it looks like we are all still trying to decide. It seems a bit pricey, but could be worth it. I also have a lot going on that night and that week - but I could make it work...providing there are still tickets available.
Perhaps we should just all go - that way we won't have to wonder what it's all about - and it could be fun. That way we'll also know for next time ;o)
If we do decide to go, perhaps we could try and carpool? I know Andrea and I live very close to each other. Plau, since we have all been talking about our own supper club, it could be a great "first" meeting. Let me know what your thoughts are.
Cheers,
Trish

pseeds,
There are three of us currently talking about starting a new San Jose club. We have all purchased tickets for the CL Event on Sept. 15th and will be having our first "meeting" there. Perhaps you would like to join us? If not, we can keep you posted on the formation of our group and when/where our next meeting will be. Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions or concerns in the meantime - or if you will be going to the CL event. So far the group consists of me, AndreaJS, and kgraham.
Cheers,
Trish

Hi Trisha,
Thanks for the response. I'm a little slow learning this chat room thing so bear with me as I try to navigate. I sent you an email a few minutes ago because I wasn't sure if I was doing this right.
I am interested in joining the cooking club but don't know if I can make the cooking light event. I'll let you know.

Katie,
All the posts before mine on 8/24/04 were posted in late 2003. It is unclear if Belinda or any of those other people ever started a supper club.
There are three or four of us that are currently trying to form a supper club, and we will be having our first informal "meeting" at the CL Event Sept. 15th. After that, we will most likely post a message with more details on the message board. Of course, it would be great to have all interested people join us at the CL event if possible.
In the meantime, please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.
Cheers,
Trish

Trish,
What is the CL event and where is it? I work and can't make it if it is during the day.
I did not realize that message had been posted in 2003!!!
Thanks,

I would really like to join the supper club (I currently live in Santa Clara). Unfortunately, I am unable to make it to the Classic French event. However, I would love to meet you all and try to arrange to get this thing going.
Is anyone able to get together some evening during the week of the 20th?

My name is Carol and I just registered for this awesome Cooking Light website board today - BTW it was the Sept issue that gave me the idea to look into supper clubs... I would very much like to part of a newly forming club in the SJ area (I live in Willow Glen)... I will email Trish directly, but I wanted to say more publicly that I hope to meet you all soon.

Hello All!!
I just wanted to post an update on the San Jose Area supper club. There were 7 people that got together this past Thursday for our first "formal" meeting. As a group, it was decided that 7 members is our maximum as many of us can only fit this many into our homes. So, at the moment, this club is closed to new members.
It is our hope that the 5 of you who could not make it to the meeting - form your own club. We also hope that the two clubs can get together on occasion for special events.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Cheers,
Tricia

For those of you who are still looking for a supper club, I've started a thread to try to organize another one. I believe I called it something along the lines of "New San Jose Area Supper Club." If any of you are interested, I'd love to include you.
