I will think of this cartoon as I'm strapping on my shin pads this afternoon - first time on the ice since April! :D

Unfortunately, there aren't enough of us here to have a league, so we do 1/2 drills and 1/2 scrimmage. Last night we were lucky enough to have an instructor from the Robbie Glantz hockey school come out and instruct - I think I finally understand how the skating stride works! (Although my inner thighs are sore today :o )

I must say I am in awe of you who play the game. The only time I have played was during the parent/kids games when my son played mite hockey. Trying to stay on my skates, make a pass, and make sure I wasn't offsides, was more than I could handle! :D I applaud you all.

LOL! I remember those games! If I ever have kids, I'm going to kick a$$ during those! After a while, it's just all second nature.

I've only been playing for a little over a year - funny how it took moving to the US for this canuck to start playing hockey. Anyway, what I want to say is that it's never too late to start playing the game - most of our players are in their 30's and 40's (even a few 50's), and none of us have played for more than a few years. Better late than never!

Last night, I played a team of ALL hockey moms. Their jerseys are pink with purplish flames on it. I love their sweaters. On the bench, they had a former IHL player and a current (really freakin' hot) NHL player coaching them. :) I wish I knew more women who played.
