I keep getting a gray box with a blue header that says "Messenger Service" popping up while I am online. the messages vary but refer you to www.messenger destroyer.com, destroyads.com, directadstopper.com or messageaway.com . there might be a couple more addresses. I have tried a couple of supposed pop up ad blockers but they do nothing. Is this something different? does anyone know how to stop it/them? It is soooo annoying!

Have you tried the Google toolbar? (http://toolbar.google.com/). It has a built-in pop up stopper - I haven't had a single one since I installed it. Plus, I love having Google on my page all the time so I don't have to go back there to do a search!

Actually, my favourite feature of the toolbar is AutoFill...you enter your address, etc. and every time you have to fill in a form you just click the button and it's automatically filled in. I love it!!

(No, I don't work for Google :D )

Valerie - I have pop-up killer, and it does stop quite a few ads. However, they are developing new ways of getting around the stoppers faster than the stoppers can re-progam. It's a vicious cycle, and if you are looking to totally stop them, I'm afraid you won't be able to.

Actually Jen, I installed the google toolbar this morning & it appears to have had no effect whatsoever, unless I did something wrong. ( how could that be???) I had high hopes for it but when it didn't seem to help I posted this. These are the only pop ups I get, but they are just endless. any other thoughts?
