Birthday Cake Recipe

I am having a small dinner party for my brother's 41st birthday. I need ideas for a cake. He is not a real dessert eater. Also, he's not a big fan of chocolate. He prefers more simple desserts. Any suggestions would be great!

If he does not like dessert nor chocolate does he like lemon...maybe he would prefer a less sweet cake like lemon cake? Or a cheesecake? Try search for cakes or cheesecake. There are some very good cakes in CL. Also in search on the bulletin board some have posted many cake recipes.Happy b day to your brother!

how about a carrot cake, or my DH's and son's favorite, boston cream pie cake, basically it's a yellow cake, i make in a cast iron skillet, cut in 1/2 horizontally and then pour on french vanilla pudding (i make the pudding w/a little less milk then called for, so it's thicker) add the top 1/2 of the cake and then drizzle 1/2 the cake w/chocolate icing, and the other 1/2 w/vanilla icing, not to sweet and always a pleaser.
