Let's launch a supper club for the new year, 2004, by planning now. I live in Blmgtn. One caveat: No smoking, please, during get-togethers!

I would also be interested in joining a supper club. I just moved from Richfield to St. Paul (Highland Area- so Blmngtn isn't far). Let me know what you come up with.

I would be interested in joining a supper club in the southern Twin Cities suburbs, as I live on the border of Eden Prairie and Minnetonka. A non-smoking club would be ideal!

It seems that we have about four people interested in starting up a supper club. Two from the St. Paul area, two from the southwest Metro. I am sure that most would prefer to not have a long commute but lets see what happens. If we find enough people to start two..great! If not, we may be driving. If you would prefer to keep it within one particular region let me know.

p.s. I am all for the non-smoking idea.

Hi. I would be willing to drive a bit since the dinners are only once a month and likely to rotate amongst the members.

What do the rest of you think about launching with four? I'm sure things will move along after the holidays.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Hello All!

I live in St. Paul, and I'd love to get involved in a supper club. I'm fine with breaking it up into two clubs (St. Paul-area and southern metro) or combining into one.

I like the idea of planning now so that we can hit the ground running in 2004!

Ok, I've got an idea. Let's start with those of you who have expressed interest. As others join in we can split into separate geographically-friendly clubs.

Please post potential dates/locations for first meeting in December.

I am open on Sundays, Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays throughout the month of December.

Location: since there are so many Caribou's, let's meet at one that has comfy tables and sofas. There is one such Caribou in a small mall off of France Avenue near Southdale. Please make other suggestions as to which other cozy venues might work.

Until then ...

I'm available most week nights after ~6 pm. Weekends are pretty booked up until after the holidays, though. The downtown St. Paul Dunn Bros. is very cozy (fireplace and leather chairs), but it might be kind of far for those on the west side of the cities.

I would also really be interested in starting a supper club. I live in Northeast Minneapolis, but don't mind a drive.

Is anyone available to meet next Tuesday evening?

Anyone else available Tuesday, evening of December 16, between 6:00-6:30p?
May be able to squeeze some Christmas shopping in at the same time.

I'm guessing relatively central location from NE Mpls, St. Paul, Bloomington might be Nokomis area.

Just saw your messages about meeting tonight (Dec. 16). Unfortunately, I can't make it. If anyone does meet up, please post an update for the rest of us!

Hello! I am interested in joining a supper club - with or without my husband. We live near 62 & 101. Has this club met yet? Are you interested in additional members?

Hi ... I'm also interested in getting a supper club together or joining one. I live in South Mpls (62-Penn area). I'd be willing to work with others to organize a group if the one spoken of here is already full. I'm single, but would be OK with either singles or couples or a mix of people.

We have not gotten together yet.
I'm still interested. Can meet anytime Fri-Sat-Sun; after work on Mon-Tues-Thurs. Suggestions welcome for location and time to meet. If we can get three people committed to first meeting I say let's do it and fill others in on the details via this message board.

I too am interested in joining a supper club. My husband and I just moved here from Michigan in Novemeber. We both enjoy cooking and are looking to meet people with similar interests. Driving isn't an issue for us. As for meeting - I'm available evenings after 6:00 and Saturday and Sunday.

I am also interested in a Twin Cities club. I live and work in Saint Paul, but am open to driving. I just found out about this, so let me know if you have already met or started something. Even so, I would love to join mid-stream. Please let me know the status.

No-smoking sounds great. Evenings work best for me to meet.

I hope this works out.

I'll throw out a few dates, and maybe we can build a consensus on one of them. How about one of the following?

- Sat. Jan. 10 in the afternoon
- Sun. Jan. 11 in the afternoon or evening
- Mon. Jan. 12 after 6:30pm

If we can get 3 or 4 people (or hopefully more!) to agree on a date, then we can pick a location based upon where those people live.

Also, does anyone think an email list of interested people would be useful so that we could communicate by email as well as on the board? I try to check the board frequently, but I often forget for days at a time.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you soon!

Mid-late afternoon or early evening on Sunday January 11 would work best for me to meet. I am flexible on location.

I agree with the suggestion of an e-mail distribution list, and think that makes the most sense going forward. Mine is dancitron@msn.com.

I can also do Sunday afternoon ... really any of the times. Lisa, why don't you just call a place & time ... it looks like Sunday afternoon works for at least three of us, so I say let's go for it. If others have great interest but can't make it, they can send input before hand and we can post a follow-up after the meeting as well.

Looks like we are moving forward here!

I am in for Sunday as well. I have sent an email to the other folks who have posted here previously (if they had the emails available).

See you all on Sunday!

I would be interested in a supper club in the TwinCities area. I'm in St. Paul, but would not mind driving to a close-by neighborhood. I was in a supper-club a few years back that was lots of fun! I hope we can start something!

I was unable to make the meeting on the 11th, but I'm still very interested in participating in the supper club. Please update me on the status of the club.

Thanks,
Catherine

Can anyone tell me if this club has formed yet? It sounds like it did, but I see 11 names there, so maybe you're kind of big? I'm in an existing cooking club that may be looking for new members. Is anyone still looking for a club?
