Hello!

DH and I flew out to Phoenix last night and are waiting to close on our house. DH starts his job this morning but we havent heard how early we will be able to get into our house. Right now it sounds like we wont be able to close until Dec 10th. So that means living out of this hotel called Candlewood Suites. Most of our stuff is still in transit to Phoenix and then will sit in storage. At least we can pick up one of the cars we shipped today so we dont have to pay for rentals the whole time. In the hotel we have a full size fridge, 2 electric cook tops and a microwave.

Any hints on making this easier for us with living out of this place for 30 days?!

Any help appreciated!

PS We moved just in time! It was suppose to snow in MN as we we're leaving - hooray!!

Man, a microwave! I lived in a place for a year with a dorm-sized fridge and 2 burners. That was all.

Anyways, pastas work well, stir-frys, any skillet type dish. Breakfast for dinner (I ate a lot of french toast made from good European baguettes - mmmm).

I second Bethany's suggestions, but also would suggest making the place feel comfortable too. If you're anything like me, any where you're living - whether it's a friend's guest room for a while or a hotel - needs to feel like your own.

I'd put some things around the room that are mine - like pictures, a blanket, some candles? That might sound silly, but those kind of things make me feel more relaxed if I know they're mine. Although, at the same time, I'm not sure how much room you'll have, and how many things you have to keep with you until you can get into your house.

Above all, though, I think cooking in your hotel room will make it feel like a temporary home the fastest. Nothing could make a place feel like home faster than filling it with the scent of dinner in the (microwave) oven ;) or on top of the stove.

Good luck!
