OK, I'm a college football fan...
So, we got killed by Florida State (my and DH's Alma Mater is Wake Forest, DH also got his master's there).
Our season hasn't been that bad. Better than in years past, anyway. Hopefully our basketball team will do really well. We're supposed to be ranked 3rd in the ACC, but I think we'll be better than that. I have faith that we'll be 2nd. Not that we'll be better than Duke (boooooooo!). Oh well, at least we can still kill them in football. Not that that's any great feat, but it's something.

This was a good week for me....
In the college world:
Clemson won (SHOULD have won much more impressively than they did...but, a win is a win is a win).
In the pro world:
Carolina Panthers won (another overtime...they've only lost 1 game this season!!)
AND...
My longtime favorites, the New England Patriots also won. :D :D :D

Well, both of the teams that I follow (PSU and Steelers) have bitten the dust this season. It's pretty pathetic.
MK - get ready for your Buckeyes to wipe up the field with us this Saturday...:(

but my weekend was split. The Panthers did well again and are having a great season but the Tarheels have yet to impress and probably won't this season. I feel badly for Durant (quarterback) because it seems that on the whole, it's our defense that hasn't shown up this season. Nice to see all the Wake fans - my DH got his master's there and works there now....

Ouch! I guess I was so consumed by how bad the Chargers have been over the past 3 years, I didn't realize you Lions' fans were suffering as well.
Of course, I am also a Ducks fan. With Kariya and Selanne gone, what do think are chances are of them returning to the Stanley Cup. But that is for another thread....

I've actually been to Lambeau as well! I went to university in the UP of Michigan. ;)
Darn! I got the funniest email today , and now I can't find it. It was a fake Associated Press release about how the Nittany Lions found a suspicious white powdery substance on the field during practice yesterday, so the coaches suspended practice and called the police. Upon further inspection, it was found to be the goal line, and the police resumed practice because they concluded that the team wouldn't encounter it again this season.
Anyway, MK and all you other Buckeye fans can rest easy about your sure win this Saturday.

I guess we'll see, although right now our team is dwindling in numbers. If they haven't been kicked off the team for assault, they've been suspended for any number of other offenses....:(

Ohio State took a knee on the 5 yard line with 1:20 to play on first down. *shrug* I love Jim Tressel. Classy coach. Could've run the score up against Michigan State, but he didn't. Go Bucks.

That's what Bob Stoops had the second string quarterback do on the 8 yd ln instead of score. Jason White only played the first half of the game because the score was already so high. But it doesn't seem fair to tell your second and third string not to play their best when they haven't had a chance to play all year. I doubt Jason White will play all of the second quarter against Baylor.

Or the 2nd quarter. That could get really ugly.
OU quit passing the ball 5 plays into the 3rd quarter, and instead just handed it off. If A&M's defense can't stop the backups, what can you do? You really can't tell them to not play.

Did you see his tackle last night and his block the week before? What other QBs do that?! Then, I love how he was on the sidelines trying to rile up the crowd when their defense was on the field. He's an all around great player.
