View Full Version : Electric Juicers
I borrowed an electric juicer to try, one that you put the whole apple, etc in and it juices it and dumps the pulp out. I would like to have any hints as to what would be good combinations to juice and recommendations as to what models people like in case I decide to buy one. Where do you buy bulk fruit to juice at reasonable prices? We have been trying apple, carrot and orange.
Thanks.

My DH is really the "juicer" in the family, but I can tell you what I know. We have a JuiceMan juicer and my husband makes similar juices with carrots apples and celery. He sometimes adds a bit of parseley, but not too much. Cantelope juice is one of his favories.

We also have a Juiceman II and my husband is also the juicer of the family. We do a lot of orange, carrot & apple too, Alky. Another favorite is "lemonade." I have no idea of the proportions, but juice a couple of apples and maybe a quarter of a lemon or so to make it lemony enough for your taste. We also stock up on cranberries (freezing any extras) and make apple/cranberry/grape/pear juice. Pineapples also juice up very nicely with oranges! As for where we get our produce- usually at the supermarket, once a week. If we're feeling adventurous, we make a 30 minute trip to a wholesale produce distributor (open to the public). Their prices are usually worth the drive and they often have items in big bags marked down (about to go bad but have another 2 days or so left in them).
