Apple-topped Gingerbread with Maple Cream

I just made this gingerbread this morning and am now nibbling on my 3rd piece. Yum!! It is indescribably delicious! I like the fact that it's more moist than most gingerbreads. When I make it agan, which will be very soon, I might add chopped walnuts to the apples before baking.
