Laura I mostly copy and paste all the recipes I want to try from CL, Recipezaar, Epicurious etc. It is really handy and then print out when I want to make something. I like that I can find things with the search much quicker than I can looking through my books. I do type in a lot of recipes from books I get out of the library as well. Hope that helps. I really like the program.

I am considering asking for Mastercook software for xmas, and I was wondering if most of you have to totally type in recipes you acquire from CL, BA, and other magazines/websites, or can you usually import them online? I hate to sound lazy, but I seriously wonder how good I will be about sitting down and typing out recipes...
Thanks, Laura

You can copy and paste the recipes to Wordpad and then import them into your Mastercook.

OK, so here is my question then--do you wait for forever for the recipes to be online? Because when I tried to check for CL, their online recipes were about 6-12 months behind the printed issues. Or did I do something wrong?

CL isn't quite so generous with their recipes as the publications at Epicurious!
