View Full Version : chili paste with garlic vs chili puree?
I wanted to make the Sichuan-Style Stir-fried Chicken with Peanuts tonight. I have a jar of chili puree with garlic in the fridge. Does any one know how much puree I should substitue? I assume the paste is stronger than the puree. Thanks for any thoughts.

This is so funny. I am making this same dish tonight and have the same dilemna. I prepared all of my ingredinets last night so I could throw it together quickly. I cannot find the paste so am using the chilli puree with garlic. I used about 1Tbpsn. I will let you know how it turns out!

I make it last night and didnt even measure the chili paste....I like it HOT! I just squeezed it in.....
