I would like to make the Thai Shrimp Dip that is in the Letters Section on the CL Homepage. It call for reduced-fat firm tofu. As I have mentioned before I live in a very small town and I have to drive 20 miles to the grocery store and it doesn't carry tofu. I don't want to have to drive an hour to Houston just for this one ingredient. Has anyone made this or have any suggestions for substituting? TIA

Hi Sneezles,

Since the tofu just gets pureed into the dip, you will really only need something to give the dip substance/creaminess and not too much flavor - maybe a low-fat or non-fat ricotta or cottage cheese (draining if necessary so it doesn't add too much liquid)?

Thanks for the advise. That is something I could probably find at this store.
