Hi all!
December 14th looks like the day. We are, however, still in need of a place to hold the event. I know several had volunteered, but we need to get this set down. The first volunteer is where we will hold the meeting. Sound good?

Has a time been established? That will determine if I can participate. Thanks.

Late afternoon is the best time for me, but I know that Jackie has a commitment until 5pm and can only make it in the evening. If evening is best for the group, then I will join you after the new year for the next supper. Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

ANY VOLUNTEERS?

I'm happy to host it at my house. I live in Eastwood. My only constraint is that I'm hosting the main course part of a progressive dinner the night before, so later in the day (6pm or later) will work better for me.

I'd be happy to pull everyone's email from the earlier thread and send out directions, times, etc. Or, folks can just respond here.

What was decided re: beverages. I recall there was some discussion that the host would provide beverages (rather than cooking). I'm happy to do it either way.

So did we decide what time we would meet? I am pretty flexible but the later the afternoon the better.

I think we should let the host pick the time

Hi!

Let's plan on 6:30pm on the 14th at my house.

I've tried to contact everyone who expressed interest directly so that I can get an idea of how many people will be there, but I may have missed some folks. So, if you are interested and able to attend, please email me directly (mambrose@adelphia.net) and I will send directions to my house.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

See you on the 14th.

Maureen

I am still interested. I can do, Sunday the 14th at 6:30. Have we decided on a theme or what everyone is brining? Just let me know. Are we cooking there or just bringing precooked dishes?

Thanks, Jackie.

I believe that we are still sticking with what we had talked about at our meeting, however, there are more interested, so what I will do is make a post of what everyone has stated they can bring thus far, and we can add to it accordingly. I am very busy today, but I will try to get it done today. I believe precooked dishes will be the best way to go as well.

Hi group.

Here's the original post from Stephanie about what was decided at the planning meeting:

Dawn, Sara, Jackie, Stephanie and Melissa met together last night at Fridays for drinks and introductions . . . we decided that with the hectic schedules of the holidays we would try to meet once at the beginning of December for our first dinner, and then get on a monthly schedule after the new year . . .we talked about everyone bringing something that they consider their specialty this time, in order to cut down on some of the holiday hecticness. For instance, I like to bake, so I volunteered to bring the cake, Sara was talking about her lettuce wraps, Dawn mentioned her veal/chicken marsala, and Jackie her foccacia. These are not set in stone, and we hope to blend the flavors of each of our dishes by posting what we would like to make, and then make adjustments from there. Several people have expressed an interest in getting started in the group after the new year, which is great.

Dawn isn't able to make the first meeting. I've heard from Dar (aka Josie011), Jackie, and Laurel but I haven't heard from Sara, Stephanie, or Melissa (who's email I don't think I have). If Sara Stephanie and Melissa are still planning to attend, then we're missing a main course (Stephanie would bring dessert, Sara--lettuce wraps, Jackie--foccacia). I was planning on making chowder or I can handle beverages. Dar and Laurel--do you know what you'd like to bring?

Stephanie and Sara and Melissa (?) could you please email me and let me know if you'll be attending and so I can send you directions.

Thanks.

Hope to see you all on the 14th.

I'm sorry to say that I am not going to be able to make it on Sunday after all, something come up that I cannot get out of. Let me know when a date is set for January. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Jackie.

I'm wondering if we should just reschedule for January. I'd be happy to host then, too. I haven't heard from Stephanie, Sara, or Melissa--which just leaves three of us.

Thoughts?

I apologize, I have had a family emergency arise and I will not be able to attend this weekend. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. I will be planning for January. Thank you.

It looks like December 14th isn't going to work. So let's reschedule for January--hopefully we'll be able to find a date that works better. How about Jan. 18th or 25th?

Jan 18th would be best for me. Are the guys also invited? I don't know if we came to a concensus on that topic or not.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Either date is fine with me.. th 18th or 25th? I thought the discussion about guys was that at this time they were not to be included..but at times they may be home anyway.

I'm glad that you are interested. I spoke with the other members of the group, and everyone is delighted that we have found some more people eager to join. Please email me at KristinaSavino@aol.com and tell me a little about yourself, if you will be joining just yourself or with a spouse/friend, ect. and what side of town you hail from.
I look forward to telling you all about our club and how we have it set up and to meeting you sometime soon.
