Hi!
I am no longer getting Email notification when someone "subscribes" to a thread I started. I used to. I checked and I still have it marked when I make a post. The box is checked marked. Any thoughts?

I'll reset your profile to see if that does the trick. Sometimes it'll jumpstart the email application.

Jennifer:
I don't think its that simple. I get email notifications sometimes, and sometimes I don't. It doesnt' seem to matter if I start the thread or if someone else starts it. Sometimes I'll get notifications for a while on a thread...and then it stops. And, I don't think I'm the only one with the problem since I'll see other comments about "sorry it took so long to get back...I didn't get notified of a post".
I have current threads that this is happening with TODAY if that will help.
This thread I'm getting updates on http://community.cookinglight.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=541633#post541633

I've got the same problem as Tyra, Jennifer - some I get, some I don't, some I get on and off. Nothing you've done in the past seems to have had any effect at all, short or long term.

Count me in on the notification problems as well. The post that I started about the Thanksgiving winners and losers... over 60 responses, and I haven't received one notification. I HAVE, however, gotten notifications on the "What does your SO make better than you?" thread. Help!

Count me in too. None for the Thanksgiving Winners and Losers, none for Question for Turkey Briners, yet I have gotten notifications about Gail's mulled cranberry sauce....lots of others have been in the not notified category lately, as well. Katie
I'm not getting my email notifications either and haven't been for a few months now. I've confirmed that I am suppose to several times.
We have a active supper club thread and all of our members are not getting notified either - the thread is:

any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Mine hasn't worked properly in so many months, I can't remember it working properly. There are about a dozen threads I should've had notifications for today - I didn't get a single email about them.
Yesterday, I got four emails all at once for the same thread. Grrrrrrrrr.

My e-mail notification has been on again-off again for so long I can't even remember when the problem started. I just realized that I had a PM from early December for which I never received the notification. I wonder what has gone wrong and why it can't be fixed.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was of the impression that the notification system isn't designed to notify us of every single response to a subscribed thread or to every individual Private Message.
I've been thinking that once you get a 'first' notification, you won't just keep geting more and more, no matter how many different threads you subscribe to or how many individual PMs you get.
I was thinking it was designed as a more general 'come to the site you need to check your subscribed threads and PM box' sort of system, which puts the burden on us to check our subscribed threads and PM box, once we've been sent one notification since our last visit to the site.
Once you visit the site, and leave, you'll get another notification only if a PM or response to a subscribed thread triggers it.
(You know, sort of how the 'View New Posts' link on this page
http://community.cookinglight.com/index.php?s=
keeps track of 'what's new' since my last visit.)
I'd thought it was all tied to the cookies set by the system.
Am I totally off base here? Is the system supposed to do something else?
I don't send a lot of PM's, and usually only subscribe to threads once they've stopped getting lots of responses. (I use it to keep track of favorite old threads for quick reference.)
Just wondering. :)

Hi guys,
As usual, thanks for your patience and great information! A configuration was incorrect on one of the three servers causing the email to sporadically fail. It should be fixed. Test it out and let me know.
Happy Tuesday!
Jennifer
I'm still not getting notified.

Jennifer:
It was working BEAUTIFULLY! Almost too good with multiple email notifications for the same thread. It now is working sporadically again.....
