Just saw this new supplement on the magazine shelf of the drug store this evening. Looks like most (all?) of the recipes are pulled from past issues. Unfortunately it's printed on thick glossy paper, coming in at $13.95 Canadian  But then being I'm fairly new to CL (just over a year), and soups and stews make up the bulk of my meals 3 seasons of the year... I'll probably crumble and pick it up next payday. Lots of pretty pictures, though :D

I "crumbled" like a house of cards! Saw it in Whole Foods Wednesday, leafed through it, put it back on the rack...and into my baset 20 seconds later!
I know I missed a lot of those recipes even though I get the magazine every month. And given that I do make soup every week, I really liked the idea of having that so I can pick out a recipe quickly when I need to. I'm sure I'll enjoy it $10 worth!

Canice,

I was laughing last week when I read your post...but I "crumbled" today also...there's something about that thick, glossy paper...
:D

I saw it yesterday and walked very quickly past it to resist temptation. Didn't know that you had a basset. :p

Forgive my goofiness, but humor (albeit lame) helps me. ;)

Oh, nothing.
But you knew that, didn't you? ;) Tonight I made the Zucchini, Potato & Parmesan Soup posted (I believe) on the October soup thread for kima.

LOL, Wendy! I noticed that as soon as I saw my post tonight... the visuals were really, really strange!! :p

I bought this Friday and then made the New Mexican Pork Chili last night. It was wonderful! The only thing I'd change is to either add a can of pintos after the chili is done or cook them first in the pc and then add the other ingredients. They weren't quite done enough but then since you shouldn't cook dried beans with salt and seasonings until they're almost done I wasn't too surprised at the end result. The pork however was so tender and tasty!!! This is the first dish I cooked in my new 8qt electric pressure cooker...many more to follow!

I should have bought this magazine over a month ago. I've been looking for the past couple of weeks to find it and can't put my hands on it in any store. <sigh>

Oh welll...I'm still looking. I'm afraid to go near Barnes & Noble...it's too close to our largest mall.

I crumbled too - because of the yummy-looking chicken soup on the front. I didn't check the price first and was a bit surprised to find that my bill for the supplement and a little box of sandwich baggies came to over $13!

Glad to hear the pork chili was good - that was on my list to try. I also can't wait to try the Jamaican Chicken Stew. Mmmm....

I haven't tried anything yet - too much other stuff going on, but might try to whip up one of them this coming weekend.
