I want to send my sister in NYC a selection of Southwester foods--hot salsas, chili peppers etc. I don't want to have to pack and ship it myself. Any mail order ideas?

Ewatkins,
Here's a couple of ideas and websites:
http://www.elgalindo.com/ In Austin, Texas
http://www.hotchili.com
http://www.saguarofood.com
http://www.nmpinioncoffee.com
I am familiar with El Galindo--good mexican food products, like salsas, chips, etc.
I have also ordered pinion coffee(very good stuff) from New Mexico Pinion Coffee Company and they do have other food items as well.
You could also do a google search for "Southwestern Food" and see what you come up with. Good luck!

I absolutely LOVE this magazine:
http://www.chilepepper.com/
If you buy it, you'll find more ads for hot foods than anyplace I could imagine.
If you look at their site, you will see a small smattering of ads for fiery foods.
Have fun shopping!! :)

If you go to Design it yourself Giftbaskets! (http://www.designityourselfgiftbaskets.com/gourmet-gift-baskets-texas-theme.htm) there's one called A Taste of Texas. You not only get to choose what goes inside you get to choose the container as well. They have other themes to choose from also.
The Santa Fe School of Cooking has some nice food items:

Also, as Jon mentioned, the New Mexico Pinion Coffee Company is a good source. We've ordered coffee from them before and they have a great selection.

Hi,
I left New Mexico over a year ago and a few months ago I was really missing green chile among other things. My mom found a company called The Chile Addict and had a bunch of things sent to me and I absolutely love it. Their website is www.chileaddictstore.com One word of advice, apparently they got a bit confused with the billing address being different from the shipping address so be careful.
