One of the teachers I work with received this as a secret santa gift today. It was in a green cute large cereal bowl with white snowflakes. Boy did this make the room smell wonderful.

Fragrant Cinnamon Dough

You can make decorative cinnamon dough buttons and ornaments for craft projects. All you need is....

1 cup ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. ground nutmeg
1 tbsp. ground cloves
2 tbsp. Aleene's Tacky Glue
3/4 cup applesauce

In medium bowl, combine and blend cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Mix in applesauce and glue until well blended. If too dry, add more applesauce; if too wet, add more cinnamon. Work mixture with hands for 2 to 3 minutes to form ball. Tear a portion from ball and roll out to 1/4 inch thick on a cinnamon-sprinkled surface.

Cut out desired shapes. Use toothpick to make two buttonholes in center of each cut-out for buttons. Or, make one hole at the top of each cut-out for hanging ornament. Place on wire rack and let air dry 24-48 hours. No need to bake! Refrigerate unused dough in a sealed container---will keep for weeks.

Mine are drying as I type this. I used the small cookie cutouts for this and will put them in a bowl with some holly. Enjoy.

Maureen...these are fun to make. I made them one year as christmas package tags and other years as ornaments for kitchen Christmas tree.

Mamasue....I have made some of them as ornaments, as well, to put on a small christmas tree for the kitchen too. Boy do they smell wonderful.

I've made this stuff before! Yum! It makes my Christmas ornament boxes smell so good!

I made big fat beads and strung them, alternating with jinglebells on stretchy gold cord.

One thing I learned is not to roll out the dough too thinly, or your ornaments will curl.
