NYC peeps help!

I'm flying into LaGuardia on Jan 7 at 9:20pm, and leaving out of JFK the next morning. Any tips on overnighting between the 2 airports? Transportation? I'm mad at myself for leaving this to the last minute.

There are plenty of hotels around both airports and I believe it's like 15 minutes tops between the two airports. I would say around LaGuardia and then arrange for a hotel shuttle to JFK with the front desk. I'm not sure where you want to stay but don't stay at the Ramada...ugh. I've stayed at the Holiday inn which was fine and the Crowne Plaza which was a bit nicer. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport and check in. Most hotels offer shuttles at least once an hour starting at like 4am.

Thanks JeAnne! I just learned that my bag won't be checked through to Detroit, and I'm bummed. I was just going to hang out at the airport, as I'll have a boarding pass. But the counter doesn't open until 4:30am.

I would offer my place but it's all the way on the other side of Manhattan island :o Too bad you're not going out of Newark!

Thanks JeAnne! After 2 calls to the airlines and one call to the airport, I've decided to save the $100 for the hotel and just take both bags to the airport with me - the terminal is open all night, I wouldn't be sleeping at the hotel anyways, and so I'll just read and knit. Round 4 am I'll go back to the desk, check in, get rid of my bag, then go back to the terminal.
