What a way to start the New Year. :( I was all set to check in here this morning, but I couldn't log on. I have CL saved as a favorite, but it wouldn't work. I couldn't just type in www.cookinglight.com either. Meanwhile, I could access any other site. Has this ever happened to you? I get immediately taken to cgi.timeinc.net. And get a message saying my subscription has expired, which it has not.

I finally googled cookinglight community which is how I'm here now. I was unable to access this site by just searching for cookinglight. Any suggestions? Sympathy please?

It probably won't happen again. Probably Gremlins at work. I have had so many different things happen to me since this site went subscription, but usually only once. This is a bad time because I am sure everyone is off for the day, but if it happens again, I am sure they will be in on Monday.

Good luck!

Lauren, I've been experiencing the same thing. Fortunately, I have community.cookinglight.com in my favorites, so I can get here with no problem. But if I scroll up to the top of this page and click on "Food", "Menus and Planning", etc., I get the same message about my expired subscription. I really don't know how to solve the problem. I'll be interested to hear if anyone was able to figure out how to access those pages.

I haven't experienced this but I am sending sympathy to you. How frustrating! Sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder if it is their way of keeping you on your toes.;) Hopefully jmarie is correct and this is a one-off thing. I went through a stage where I kept getting an error and had to re-start my computer each time (not just on this site) at least 20 times a day. I was just about to lose it when someone suggested that it could be pop ups and this indeed seem to be the problem. I loaded some pop-up software and it has worked. Now I don't know if this was the cause but I am happy that it is been resolved.

Today I can access the site. Guess they realized my subscription expires in January, 2005 not January, 2004 .

Lauren, still no luck for me. I just gave it a try and it looked promising. Although my access was "interrrupted", they offered the option of clicking to reinstate my subscription (which I should need to do) or check my account status. Unfortunately, I have tried clicking on each one, and in both cases, "the page could not be found." GRRRRRRRRRR!

Debbie - That's just the message I was getting yesterday. It's so frustrating! Maybe tomorrow the problem will be magically corrected. :)
