Sears recently advertised the Floormate on Sale for $169.99. I went back to get the ad but I couldn't find it in my newspaper (isn't this always the way?). Anyway I found it listed on line and my DH went down to get one. Would you believe that they would not match the internet price of their own store at first? The person finally relented and said that he would only price match because he thought another local store had them for $169.99. And then...they did not have any in stock! Anyway, I now have a raincheck for it. I just can't understand their logic especially when the Sears site states that you can order online and pick up from a store.
By the way this special lasts until 01/03 so if you are thinking of getting one this is the best price I have seen her in Hawaii.

I'm not sure what model you are looking at from sears but this seems like a good deal?
If you are a first time customer at HSN - they have
http://www.hsn.com/cnt/prod/default.aspx?webp_id=1449774&web_id=1449774&sz=0&sf=&dept=&cat=&subcat=&gs=&attr=
For 149.90 and free S&H (Although I see your in Hawaii and I know that a lot of places charge extra - no idea on this deal)
If you use this coupon code 711231 when you check out (valid for first time customers only) you get 25% extra off. That brings the total to $112.42.
Hope that helps!

Yup, I believe it...because I work at a store that does the same thing. I work for a large national chain, and we have a large, well-known website. Items are very often cheaper online than they are in the store, but we will not match prices. Though we share the same name, the store and the website are actually 2 separate businesses. Also, the website does not incur the same overhead costs that the retail stores do, so their costs are lower. Plus you get charged for shipping when you order online, so they lower the prices a little to compensate for that.

I don't have anything insightful to add, just wanted to say that it happens all the time (horrible isan't it?). I worked for Sears for three years in their cosmetics (yes they used to sell their own brand of cosmetics) and I found out that my department was being taken out by reading it in the newspaper! Sears has some shady dealings, with employees and customers. Those service agreements they have (that we were trained to sell, I also worked in jewelery) are a crock and so is their price matching policy. The ads on TV make it look so easy for price matching, but as an employee it is a pain in the but and it is especially bad on the customer.
Has nothing to do with appliances but on their pricing:
When I worked in jewelry, when we got the new products in sometimes they forgot to take of the unit price of the merchandise that the store was charged for. Well I got to see that a ring that was on sale for $249.99 cost the store about 35 bucks! Talk about price gouging.
Anyways, good luck with your purchase, I feel your pain :)

I just replaced my washer and dryer and I didn't go to Sears for the first time in 48 yrs. Sorry, not the same anymore. Hope they don't go the way of Wards and Spiegels but I wouldn't be too surprised.:(

 I won't bore you with my very long story of my dissatisfaction with Sears...I will say this...after the way my online order was handled (or should I say totally messed up) for some big ticket appliances, I vow to never shop there again.
I switched to Lowe's because we needed the items immediately, and they were great to deal with!

I bought my washer and dryer at Lowes, they asked when I wanted delivery and I said Friday, he then asked morning or afternoon. I said morning and it was there by 10 AM. All hooked up and the old ones out in the garage. Was a very pleasant experience.:D
