I just bought some fresh nutmeg yesterday to use in some more gnocchi (we'll see how long my success lasts http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif ), and wondered how long it will keep. Does it go bad at all? Should I store it any certain way? I think it's going to take me a while to use it all up, and I would like to avoid wasting it. Thanks!

Hi Emily! I have a jar of whole nutmegs that I would say I have had for at least 2 years. They still have their pungent aroma and flavor. I feel positive that if you keep them in something airtight such as a small jar and keep in a dark place (where all your herbs should be) then they should last you a long, long time. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif You made the right decision in purchased fresh whole nutmeg....so much better then the ground stuff in the jar or bottle. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Good Job Kim! It depends on what you use for e-mail. I have Outlook Express which offers alot of fun stuff. In Outlook, you would save a graphic or image to your hard drive or floppy and to to Insert and insert it that way. If you have Outlook, I can send you some sort of instructions to help you. If you have one of those free email services from the net, such as, hotmail or yahoo, etc. then you may have to use a different code. E-mail me and I will try to help you. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
