View Full Version : dried cranberries
I have a bag of cranberries in the freezer. I'm thinking of borrowing a dehydrator to dry them. Does anyone have any experience making dried cranberries or any general tips for me? I'm thinking a dehydrator may be my next gadget purchase, since my 3 yr old wiped out my neighbor's dried blueberry and strawberry supply in one afternoon. Thanks. sally

I tried doing this one year but the cranberries were hard as rocks. I placed them in my trays and they were round and hard. Maybe I did something wrong but I never tried again. Let me know how you do yours?
I will let you know. My thought is to thaw them and then put them in. However, I've never used a dehydrator before. After I read the directions I may have a different plan. Also, I've read in another post that dried cranberries often have some sugar, so I'm wondering if I need to sprinkle a little sugar on them. Maybe I'll try both ways. sally
