Any recommendations on bread machines? I have my heart set on the Breadman recommended in the latest CL issue..but I don't think it's available in Canada?
I really want to be able to make a loaf of bread that looks normal (as in not this humungous round thing that came out of my girlfriends machine:-)
And being able to make pizza dough is important as well...
thanks,
Sandy.

Sandy1-if you go to search and type in bread machines, there are many threads and recommendations. We purchased, because of those threads, a Welbilt that makes bread in 1 hour. I had to play with the ingredients at first but now we have a wonderful loaf baking while I make dinner. You can make pizza dough and regular loaves as well in it!

Sandy!!!!! I think this is you - anyway if you still have my email address I get an email daily from a very useful breadmaker string. What I do now is put each loaf through the 'dough' cycle, then bake every loaf in the oven in a regular loaf pan - turns out perfectly normal. I don't have the bread site right here and just deleted it this am - but would send it to you or I can tell you tomorrow.

Hi,
I found a "deal" on a bread Machine.
Well, really I got an e-mail from King Arthur Flour advertising the Breadman Ultimate TR2200C Bread Machine recommended by Cooking Light for only $99.95 instead of the usual $200.
they (KAF) say they got a deal from the Manufacturer.
This is a copy of the e-mail I got.
PRICE SLASHED ON BREAD MACHINE: A late-breaking price reduction from
our bread machine manufacturer arrived too late to include it in the
catalogue, but we'd like to let Round Table members know that we're now
offering our Breadman Ultimate bread machine for JUST $99; that's more
than $100 OFF our previous bread machine/juicer combo offer.
Purchase at: HTTP://www.kingarthurflour.com/cgibin/start/offer-a.html?cust=E0706-A
well anyway it seems like a good deal to me for this Bread Machine.
I hope you don't think this is a commercial because it's not. I just thought some of you fine folks on the Bulletin Board might want to know about this.

Hi Sandy,
Forgot to mention this to you. You can probably order from King Arthur and have it shipped to Canada just fine.
I know when I order things from Canada, and put it on a credit card, the credit card company takes care of the exchange rate and bills me for the right amount.
So anyway, I think you can get the Breadman in Canada.

Ed,
Thanks for sharing the Breadman info. I went to the site and they are out-of-stock, but continuing to take/place orders. I saw the TR777 at Target for $89. I compared features at the Breadman site, they are pretty similar. Maybe for the extra $10, plus shipping, it's worth it to get the higher model.
Our 10 year old Hitachi is ready to be retired!

ED-
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for posting that link about the Breadman. I have a bread machine that was my grandmothers and although it continues to serve me well, I have been dreaming about the one that Cooking Light featured. So, when I saw your link, I immediately purchased it. A bit impulsive, but I can't wait! Thank you http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I have a Hittachi Home Bakery and I really like it except for the funny looking loaf that comes out when I let the machine do the cooking. So now I put it on the dough setting and when that's done, I reshape it in a pan, let it rise again, then bake it in the oven. Really looks "homemade"!!
