Are there any Carolina fans here (besides me-- )?
DH and I are so excited! We live only about 10 minutes from Ericsson stadium, home of the Panthers, and have gotten to see them play many times!
Debbie
I've been a Panthers fan ever since Kerry Collins was there, since I loved him when he was here at PSU. I still like the Panthers to this day and I hope they go all the way!! :)

I didn't even know that there was a football team in North Carolina until the last game. I grew up outside of Philadelphia and my mom and stepfather are big Eagles fans. My mom called me Sunday morning and asked if I was going to watch the Eagles/North Carolina game that evening.
I told her that I didn't think NC had a team. Well I was wrong.

We've seen them play many times as well. I love Peppers! We'll be going to Charlotte to watch the big game and go out afterwards!!!

Quite easy to understand but hard to forgive--;) !
BTW, their stadium is in NC but they represent both of the Carolinas. Maybe that's why you thought NC didn't have a team.

Being from the Carolinas, I'd say that the Panthers are probably my second favorite team in the NFL. Want to guess who's #1 and has been for years???? I pulled for the Patriots before the Panthers were even a glimmer in the owner's eye. :D

Oh, Melman, you are so evil--;) ! Well, at least one BB member will be happy no matter which team wins.

She's not evil - being from New England is like the Hotel California, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!
Go Pats!!

A fan here ever since the team started - my second team is Detroit. I was out at Hecht's on Monday buying the conference championship t-shirts for the boys to wear to school yesterday. They were happy.

I figured it would be a win/win situation....though I'll probably have to have different levels of excitement. Go Pats!! Go go go. [next play - but not quite as loud] Go Panthers! Go go go! [louder] Go Patriots!! :D :D :D :D :D
I really was excited all season watching both teams win. In a million years, I never thought I'd see them play each other though! :D I have to admit, it's much more exciting LIKING both teams instead of not caring whatsoever about either of them. I still can't remember who played in the Superbowl last year...but I know the Patriots won 2 years ago! :D Selective memory is one of my claims to fame. :D

I feel your pain! I can't imagine if the Panthers played the Redskins (which were my favorite and DH's favorite long before the Panthers existed)!
Oh, well, I'll still love you guys even if the Pats win !

Go PATS!!!!! :D
Our quarterback is way cuter than your quarterback.
Our quarterback got invited to the State of the Union address.
Our quarterback doesn't have to tell the press how to pronounce his name.
De Patriots, de best team in the NFL, will win De-lhomme-bardi Trophy! Unfortunately I can't take credit for that line!
:D :D :D

Ok..I forced myself to look for pictures of the two quarterbacks. I knew what Tom Brady looked like and have HIGH appreciation for his looks. :D I didn't know what the Panthers' quarterback looked like. Darn...you should try this...pull up pictures of both quarterbacks and force yourself to switch back and forth between them. Nothing shabby about either one.
BUT...after several flips back and forth, I'm putting my vote in for Tom Brady as the better looking quarterback. :D Yes, I tried to be impartial. ;)
I will also admit that watching the pregame activities for both games on Sunday, I did notice there were TONS of extremely good-looking men on both of those teams!! I don't remember football teams having so much eye-candy! :D

Actually, you are giving me way too much credit:D I think it's because I work with only women and no one talks sports.
I did learn not to call anyone about an apartment during a UNC basketball game my second day here. How was I to know that I needed to check my tv guide before answering an ad:confused:

OK, girls, Brady and Delhomme are both cute, but Brett Favre is the ultimate hottie:D I know, I am green (get it?!) with envy that you guys made it to the Super Bowl!
It should be a great game - I guess I'll be rooting for Carolina since I'm an NFC gal - plus I thought the story about Sam Mills was awesome:)

I agree Favre is a hottie! I had to feel sorry for him, having his last pass intercepted. Do you think he will play next season now? (I thought he was retiring after this year).

I heard that MR. Brady was at the top of some kind of New England's list of most eligible bachelors????? Since I'm WAAAYYYYY down south, I can't confirm this....but I don't doubt it.

Debbie - I love your avatar, too:D I think Brett will be back next season, but I guess you never know! I'm pretty sure he'd like one more shot at the Super Bowl:)

NEVER fear....Brett will be back. I'm sure of it. He's going to go out with a bang...and not the type of bang an interception generates!
And Sheila, we KNOW we should be playing in that game on Sunday. But I, like you, am an NFC gal (unless the NFC team has beaten my team that is!)so.....GO PANTHERS!

Not a football fan but always happy when the 'home team' does well so I hope Elvis kicks some furry Panther butt! :D
Feel sorry for poor my DH...the Super Bowl will air over here at 2:00 o'clock in the morning (and we don't even get the commercials!)...hope I awake to good news!

I like Bret Farve but since I am from the South I will be rooting for Carolina, my DH being from New York will be rooting for the Patriots.
I was hoping these two teams would make it. Both teams deserve to be in the Super Bowl.
Any one planning a Super Bowl party?
